Burning DVD's

Parabellum

New member
Does anyone know of a fast program to convert avi, divx, mpeg, etc file to dvd format. Something that works super fast.

I'm using nero 6 now and for 3 flicks about 1.5 hours long each it will take 23 hrs to render. Too damn long.

I've used Nero and Easy DVD Creator...both seem to be about the same in terms of rendering.

Now, successful burning...that's something else entirely.

When you say dvd format, you mean that a dvd player will play it right? Because if you have a avi/mpg/mpeg file it will fit on a cd no problem. It's the same thing as a DVD except that the quality is not as good, and it's called a VCD (Video Compat Disc) instead of a DVD. I have a DVD-burner as well, but I won't burn something onto a blank DVD unless I know it needs it, and usually the codecs for the types of files your talking about have them compressed way below that. I'd be happy to help ya out. Let me know.

no, its all been a huge scam by the computer ROM makers, and dvds are actually really cds.

They just want you to pay extra for their "DVD burners"

:nerd:

Converting my files to vcd format takes significatly less time. But that's only one movie at a time and with the dvd equipment I own I need to use cd-rw's.

What format does the file have to be in to quickly create a dvd?
Mpeg-1?

I just ripped a 10 min mpeg-2 file from a my camcorder and nero wants to waste 15 hours to burn in onto a dvd-rw.

What I need to know is what software will convert my avi/mpeg.mpg,mov files very quickly to dvd format?

Where can I download every available codec?
