Broken glass in amps

This sucks.

A few days ago I shreaded my thumb opening an amp of HCG. I got it from IP. He doesn't make the HCG... but it is the line he ships.

My first thought was that they were the thinest amps I'd ever seen. I'd never had amps "shatter" into shards before. When I slashed my thumb... it was pretty much because I didn't expect the amp to come apart in my hands.

Today I went to boot another amp. I wrapped it in a towel (like someone here suggested) and BLAMO... it broke into million pieces.

Then I noticed there were broken slivers of glass IN the amp. I've never had that happen in 20 + years of juicing.

I mixed the water and HCG... drew it out through a 22 guage needle... then drew it again threw a 25 guage needle and booted. I wasn't worried about shooting glass slivers. I knew the needles would filter them out.

Has anyone else ever had this happen?

yes bro..

in turkey, i buy a product called 'epargrisevoit'.
its basically vitamin b12 and vitamin c in an ampule.

anyhow, the ampules arent of high quality and about 1 in 5 will shatter in pieces. basically, it'll shatter and i'll lose out on those vitamins.

best suggestion is to break at the top of the ampule rather than at the neck.

be careful-if you shoot some glass it may not work its way out of the skin-it may work itself deeper into the body. my suggestion is to get a whatman micron filter, since it sounds like this is going to happen everytime.

I took a pair of pliers to the top of a 50 ml. bottle of QV enanthate once (don't ask...) to break the top off and had the top shatter (stupid me with big grip strength ). But I just transferred it over into the other vial anyway (no problems with it ever...)

syringe filters come in handy. I had the same problem with some hcg a while ago, I would be willing to bet they're the same ones.

or get 20 gague filter needles for drawing...perfect for just such an occasion.

Monoject 20 gague 1 1/2 inch filter needle, with microporous stainless steel particulate matter 5 micron filter. Pretty cheap too.

i've had it happen with testex amps, little shards of glass all in the amp.

Never happened to me. Sorry to hear that bro, that sucks. I would definitely filter it if you are going to use it...

Maybe it's just me, but there's no way I'd inject a vial that has broken glass in it before I even open it! That doesn't speak well of the hygiene of the factory and the sterility of the gear. Is it really worth injecting stuff that's already clearly whack?!?

Sofa--holy crap the same exact thing just happened to me with his same exact product--it shattered but oh well i just filtered the glass out
