my fiance suggested a trip to the cinema so i said, to see what?she replied, to see a love story. hmmmmmm i thought that sounds really uninteresting. she continued, its a love story about two cowboys riding the range called broke back mounting, hmmmmmmmm.what a film title name for a love story indeed and after recovering my composure i decided to pass on this wonderful opportunity.now call me old fashioned but when i usually think of American cowboys i think of men like john Wayne in true grit, Clint Eastwood and the spaghetti westerns or even the magnificent seven, not rawhide meets Elton john.now, i don't know if they end up married and living happy ever after but if this is the state of the American cowboy genre today ill just have to stick with the old tapes.this should be up for at least a couple of golden globes for sure so perhaps this is indicative of some parts of the film industry today.

No, they don't end up married. One of the cowboys is murdered in a hate crime because he is gay. Feel better?

It's an awesome movie that basically proves it's point with every ignorant comment made about it. :)

so they never got married after all, thats a real shame.i only like happy endings.any guys out there who have seen this film?

I know what ever happened to westerns and cowboy movies like John Wayne eastwood. Now we got gay cowboys that couldn't find any sheep.

it looks like tinsel town is working to an agenda here.i can only guess at what john Wayne would have made of this rewrite of how the west was won.when i see a western i want to see straight talking, straight shooting men. i don't expect to see as Arnold schwarzenegger put it.......... girlymen.ill be giving this film a miss.perhaps im just old fashioned that way.whats next........ a very butch cassidy and the sundance kid?

it shows bigotry and homophobia still exists. Thanks for proving it.

come to tn. LOTS of tough-guy cowboys .. are actually gay. Not surprising since C&W music is gay.

ohhhhh razor some straight acting guys can be just so bitchy.i can understand the paranoia developing with guys like George bush and governor Arnold around preventing homosexuals from getting married in dresses but from my perspective i find it amusing, laughable if faintly ridiculous.as long as there isn't a gay remake of blazing saddles or raw hide played by butch tough guys that im subjected to ill laugh at it all. some in this world take a different approach.i can understand the paranoia when men like rodman the basketball player recently stated on air that gay and bi sexual people are the weirdest people in the world and i dont like being around them.your views on gay cowboys and cw music being predominantly gay are best voiced on the safety of this board by you and are not born out by fact or generally held views.if you want a more frank discussion on this subject pm me.

saw it...wouldnt exactly call it a "love story". There was more making out in the audience (I saw it in West Hollywood) then there was on screen. Anyway, I dont think it was an "awesome" movie at all- slow paced, boring dialogue & way too many dull scenes of mountains & sheep.

I can understand why the cowboys hooked up tho, their wives in the movie were pretty hideous. your didnt miss much.
