oh boy! what a cultural hub that place is. fucking useless bookstore. an entire wall of african literature and one rack each for bios and history. no Death on the Installment Plan by Celine. no Emile Zola, you work in a bookstore and don't know who Zola is??? wtf. all the bios were of pop culture assholes. do you know Warren Beatty has a biography out? fuck.

THe only thing Borders is good for downtown here is they let you use the bathroom. Worthless. We have the largest bookstore in the world called Powell's books, its like a library and its been a tradition to let people read the books there and hang out. Get food in the cafe etc... Its a subculture in itself, social meetings, events, etc... all really liberal activism shit though, that kinda blows

yeah, me too. Barnes and Noble is way better AND they have better sales on the books. People sittin down going through magazines and books, grabbing a cup of coffee - nice and quiet
