Im just wondering how difficult it is to get across the border at this time. I know it probably more difficult after last months events, but is it possible to get back across with shit? Are the search precedures stiffer now? Anyone been down there since? I wanna make a trip in the next couple months or so, so any info would be appreciated. TIA

I live on the border. It takes much longer crossing in a car than before 9/11. Typically, at the bridges I cross at, they will now ask for a drivers' license or ID for proof of citizenship and be much more careful with looking in your car. They often ask you to open your trunk, but they did that sometimes before. I can tell they send more cars to "secondary", but if you're crossing at a busy time, like when people are coming back from the restaurants and clubs, it's pretty much hassle-free. Be prepared to wait.

I haven't walked across or back in years, so I can't speak for what they're doing crossing that way.

I just got back on Tuesday from Mexicali. No problems. They asked me for I.D. and citizenship.

Came back with Ttokkyo Sus. and halosten. Alot of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to tj yesterday, and if your going definitely drive across, if you walk or try to take the bus back it is a 3-5hour wait.......and I would say if your smuggling, get inventive, definitely take the shit out and transfer, someway somehow that is not obvious, I dont want to go into detail cause that will tip off customs with ideas but I think you know what I mean, the worst they can do if they find it is pour it out and detain you...........but if they catch you with it in the vials and jugs you can bet your ass your fucked....they are more laxed at the driving station and more heightened securtiy at the walking and bus routes.

My friend told me that it would be more risky to drive across, because it looks suspicious driving a car to tJ...he said most just walk and if i drive, theyll be wondering why and it will look suspicious. I dont know how much truth there is to this, ive never been to mehico, but can anyone confirm this?
