Bombing $ucks!!!

Anyhow,...

Had my meet this weekend in Dallas. Didnt go anywhere near how I wanted. My trainnig has been going great up until this point, so I decided to push myslef at this meet.

Sq:
1st-585-MISS=Had the rack height set to tall and couldnt get set up and would barely clear. Not for sure, but it felt like one of the spotters was pulling on the bar(this happened 2x during the set up for this lift), and it even got to the point where the head judge told the spotters/loader not to do a damn thing untill Iwas completely clear(so maybe it wasnt jsut me). Knee wrap came undone during the time it took me to setup, and when I went down, all my weight got shifted to the leg with the wrapping undone. All in all this one was a fiasco, I shoul have just scarpped it instead of attempting it.

2nd-585-MISS- GOt the rack height lower, set up solid, went down good, then when coming up my left leg goes shooting out to god-knows-where.Rescued by spotters.

3rd-585-MISS-GOt another good setup, good air, went down to depth getting ready to head back up when I lose my balancce and fall backwards(And again saved of certain death by spotters!) This falling back episode isa new problem to me, dont know where it came from.

Im not making any excuses for this day, It jut didnt click for me all day. I know Im plenty strong enought to do this(did more weight in my meet back in April) just gotta make some changes to my routine, and get ready for Omaha. Hopefully I will have the video up soon so you guys and girls can pick it apart and give me your opinions.

VDOP, that sucks man. At least you have a meet coming up soon where you can make up for that. Just use it to get pissed off on squatting days.

Have you been training with the monolift lately. Some KC guys were hoping they could make the trip to Tulsa to train on the monolift. Maybe you guys could get together and hit up a squat day.

You'll come back to hit a PR in Omaha, no worries. I'll probably be the knee wrapper, so I'll make sure they stay in place this time.

Maybe I needed a setback to push me harder. THe fact that my training has been going super otherwise is the part that disturbs me.

I did HEX myself by saying I was planning on going blah blah blah blah in this lift or that lift. No longer will I underestimate my enemy!

I did get some encouragement afterwards from the meet promoter and head judge on the progress I had been making, and that I need to use this exp to piss me off and work that much harder.

Just gotta make a coupla tweaks on my training, and get back in the game.
 
Don't let it get you down. The majority of lifters I have met through the years have bombed at one point or another. Sometimes we learn more about ourselves by failing. I'm sure your next meet will be PR's on all three lifts. I think it's more important that your training was going well anyway. Three attempts at a squat does not define where you are at in your training. Keep hitting it hard and you will see the numbers you are looking for at your next meet.
 
One step back two steps forward. Use this as a learning experience and prep for next time.

I think I am up to 11 bombouts in my career. I always seem to have a good meet after a bombout. It's just fuel for the fire.
 
Damn, I'm sorry I had to miss the meet :( Would have liked to be there to cheer you on. When/where is your next one?

:D She is pretty damn cool. She also encourages me to eat (when I'm feeling fat) and supports my video game habit. When is the Omaha meet? Maybe we could road trip...
