bolt more impressive then phelps?

And to add another footnote about Alexander Karelin, I found this on a search:

He competed at the heaviest weight class of his day, 130 kg (286 lb). His conditioning, quickness, and incredible physical stature for his weight, perhaps combined with his dominance of the sport, led to him being known as "The Experiment" by much of the rest of the world. The term connoted the notion that his strength and skill were the result of some kind of scientific experiment. When asked why he thought he was called that, Karelin noted that others don't understand because "I train every day of my life as they have never trained a day in theirs."

That's a sig-worth quote right there.

Don't kid yourself, he was part of the old soviet doping program. He was genetically probably one of the most gifted humans of our time......but his dominance was a product of a doping protocol of the old eastern block sports machine. Obviously training was still most of it, we know this by the fact that you can't just pick up roids and be ROnnie COleman in a year or two.......but regardless, the man devoted his life to training and doping to be the best at what he does and maybe the best ever, I can't be mad....props to him.

probably not to their extent. What some of the east german athlestes have divulged over the past few years is quite startling. It's every bit like what was portrayed in Rocky 4 with the russian. The guy that finally beat Karelin though did not look like he juiced, not at all. Gardner had possibly the worst physique of an athlete I've ever seen, and that includes butterbean. If I saw that guy on the street I wouldn't guess him to have done 10 minutes of cardio in his life.......but he was a machine, I don't get it. How can you be a worldclass wrestler with legendary cardio and look that bad...????
