BMW owners...question on Audio

Hey Elite members I just bought a 98 528i yesterday and I have a question. Well, just to fill ya in 4 days ago I broke up w/ my lady (okay well she broke up with me) and I went out and bought this car I fell in love with. It's black on tan. This is my question. Can I add an amp to my car without having to change to head unit? All I want to do is add some bass to it but I still want to keep the OG radio. Can I? If so, what do i need to do and should I take this to the pros to work on? Thanks for any advice in advance. Oh, if you have a 528i let me know what i should know about the car. Thanks. BIGWILLSTER

I don't know if this helps, but strongchick seems to be lacking a man in her love life.

Okay, somehow my thread got ignored. Can anyone answer my original question?

No, but if anyone knows the answer to the same question with respect to Diablo's , I'd like to hear it.

Yes, you can add a sub-woofer - 10" /amp - 200 watts to your car and it's pretty easy to do as well. It will run you 500-600 US dollars and is for the factory sound system BMW installs.

Bavarian Autosport sells them.

I believe it's called a Basslink.

Give them a call they will know what it is - 800-535-2002

Fuck Yeah... very easy too.

BTW.. if you need a parts hook-up pm me and I will put you in touch with a friend who runs a huge parts center in Atlanta.

Yep, I added 1 10' sub and an amp to mine, its a 2000, is your battery in the trunk, they wont even have to touch your head unit, its all right by the battery. I'll post a pic of my trunk when I can. peace

Won't he need to run RCA's from the head unit back to the amp? If so he'll need to take out the head unit.

*cough*

BassLink is - plug & play and it just happens to be on sale at Bavarian Autosport!

heh.

Not sure due to the year and model, the gentleman that installed my set up didnt even go in my front seat area, had to go to the back seat for box adustments and such, thats it though. peace
