Blood tests says I have kidney problem

I just got my results back and my levels are slightly elevated. I have been taking creatine for months now so I will be coming off soon. The Doc did not even mention the levels because I had already told him I work out heavy, take creatine and have a high protein intake.I often wondered if taking creatine and cycling at the same time does any damage because I read that alot do do both. You probably dont have anything to worry about.

I'd call the nurse back and ask for details. "What do you mean worry? Exactly what are you talking about?"

I would assume they are calling you back in as your creatinine and urea are elevated, which would be 'normal' physiologically for bodybuilders.

Doctors are often quite rubbish at interpreting results within the context of the patient,

Exactly...

Often doctors/NP's/PA's do not keep up with current literature or knowledge especially when it comes to fringe populations like a "bodybuilder"

They see something "out of range" and immediately assume you are on your death bed.

Unless something is WAY off to illustrate you are breaking down your OWN muscle tissue, chances are you dont have anything to worry about.

Just had blood work done and my creatinine level is 1.1 mg/dl. The range it says to be .5-1.5
I eat about 200g of protein daily and take creatine 3x a week after working out. not sure about others here but my creatinine levels has never been elevated as far as I remember however, I take daily magnesium and potassium because my potasium was low in the past. Now even with the suplementation my potassium is 4.1mmol/l and the range is 3.5-5.5. So to me is still a concern becasue I'm not even sweating that much to lose potassium. So, I definintely think that there is a correlation among all these.
Before jumping to conclusions, I would look at all the numbers and try to make sense but from what I heard accutane is nasty and usually test would not put stress on the kidneys in normal conditions.
I would definitely take those eleveted numbers seriously and make sure there isn't an underlying issue here becasue I eat lots of protein and take creatine without my levels being elevated
Good luck bro
