who has one what do you think? I have a samsung U740 right now but the battery is going on the dam thing and it cost more to get a new battery then to get a new dam phone.

It would be more of a getting used to it thing I guess carrying something bigger around. The Bold is suppose to be coming out soon but I don't know how much longer I can wait with this phone battery issue.

Never heard of the Bold - who makes it?

I hate that, my other phone was like that the last few weeks I had it was plugged in to use.

you do know if you get one that you automatically get hit with an extra $40/month blackberry fee?

why not get a much better pda phone by htc? not only will it be much more customizable and have many more applications to run on it, but it will do a lot more for a lot less.

i have the spring mogul aka htc titan, and i only paid $200 for it. what's my service plan? glad you asked. i pay $50/month for 1250 anytime minutes, free nights starting at 7pm, unlimited text messaging, unlimited internet/data usage, sprint to sprint calling, and more.

i also flashed my phone and turned into into an iphone clone.

again, fuck the blackberry.

I am not sure how it works in the US but the plans here for the blackberry is between 20-35 per month depending on the package you pick might cost less here as RIM is Canadian :)

that's in addition to your carrier's monthly service fees. it's not $25-30 / month with talk time and whatnot.

you are paying for the blackberry service, which is required to use a blackberry phone, on top of what you are already forking over to sprint/verizon/alltel/etc.

We don't have the same carries I will have to double check but my gf had her and it only $30 more a momth just her old cell bill was.
 
well...if that is the case, and i hope for you it is, i would still stay clear of blackberry.

check out the new phones coming out from htc...they are really, really nice.

I hate window modile I have that on the U740 and it is the suck
 
I have a pearl, it's ok... Camera sucks though. Texting is ok but a full keyboard would be nice. I've had it six months and am ready for the Bold to come out so I can get that one.

Pearl is nice and small and has been a good phone... If you can wait another month, i'm sure the price of the pearl will drop even more with the new versions coming out.
 
curve is alot better,...the pearl is worthless in my opinion..no reason to have a blackberry that isnt functional like a real blackberry
 
windows mobile 6.1 is really nice. however, i do agree with you that windows mobile 5.0 sucked donkey dick.

Telus is terrible dropped calls etc I have a GF with Telus you text her and she doesn't get stuff for 24 hours. I been with bell for 9 yeats I get to upgrade every 16 months on any phone up to a value of $200.
 
D, U740 doesn't have Windows Mobile on it. I had that phone then switched to the HTC Touch. I miss the keyboard though. Get the Curve if you do alot of texting or surfing on the phone (I do, so I'm thinking about it). Get the Pearl is a nice thing if you don't use the additional Blackberry features that much (also because it's so cheap now).
 
Wife just got a Dare and really likes it.

Just depends on what you're gonna do with it.
 
Besides, I didn't think that the Bold was going to be released in the CDMA version yet. Usually, the GSMs come out first.

Really? dropped?
I'm on the "MIKE" network and it works when I'm working underground at Queens Park (2nd basement) and in almost all elevators.
Been with Telus since 1997 but yah sometimes they suck.
My upgrades are free and my Blackberry is broken so I'm researching too.

The Bold looks kick ass but I heard that it is just Rogers. I think I might get the Curve no sure really rather not spend anything out of pocket if I go the Pearl it would be free. I dunno battery is good now for today. LOL

Hmm Samsung Ace has windows mobile and I am used to Samsung phones also the is the Palm Treo 700 WX with either of those my bill wouldn't go up at all with the blackberry data plan my bill would be more.
 
I had one for 2 weeks and I loved it but then there were all these stupid problems w it and the txt messaging system on it is terrible. stay away if you txt more than like 20 a day
