Black rappers...

and some white wannabe rappers.

They're always giving this "you know what I'm sayin'" shit. Every sentence ends with you know what I'm sayin'. Why doesn't people just say fucking "NO!" to them everytime they spill that shit out.

The chimp is'nt the brightest primate ever , so it has to check with it's own kind to see if the pounding of the chest message was convayed or not ....

It's like watching them stick a finger up there ass in the zoo and then smell it .. Hmm ! thats shit ...... " hey buddy smell this " it's shit , right ? Ya .. thats shit all right , " you know what i'm sayin "

I like how they always move their hands around in all these gestures to compensate for not knowing how to play an instrument. I think it would be funny if someone made a rap group called The Shadow Puppets. Then they could at least put that shit to good use.

Whaatttt???

Yeaahhhhhh!!!

okkaayyyy!!!

lol

when I was getting grilled up on stage by these judges after this real estate presentation I did, one guy asked me a question and I realized I was totally nailed, I had missed a detail in the case so I started rambling, and at the end of every sentence I said "you know what I mean right" and was nodding my head up and down. lololol god it was fucking embarassing. we still won though.

dude get the fuck out of here, people from all ethnicities say shit like that. There's some surfers in delaware i hang out with who say "ya know" after everything. The mom on bobby's world says "don't cha knohhw" all the time, so i assume all women from wisonsin do. I have a couple jewish uncles who say "am i right?" every 5 seconds. yaddadamean? yadada sayin tho?

Yo bino, STFU!

sometimes fashions and trends take a while to reach nether-regions like your arrid land.
like when i went to argentina in 2001 peeps were wearing sweaters tied around their shoulders like a 1984 frat boy...fucking cheezy.
so what i'm getting that is this: acid-washed bellbottoms and cropped football jerseys are not cool anymore bor, and nether is steely dan

Coolness has nothing to do with the actual music. You either can sing, or you can't. If you can't, we might still let you rap.

hmmm...so i guess beethoven wasn't a musican, and neither was charlie parker.

Composer and saxophonist/composer

Don't mix them to rappers, who are the least talented group of musicians.

so how does one measure the talent of music?
or painting?
or any of that art shit?

Good question, how indeed can we measure if Miles Davis was more talented musician than Blink 182's guitarist Tom DeLonge. Think Bino, think.

Moronic rhetoric to a verbal tick. It's like a boring lecture, nobody interupts or questions in hope that it will end sooner, imo.

purely taste
purely what you like and prefer.
you can't measure that

Sure we can measure it. Pick up an guitar and play Paco De Lucia's album "Cositas Buenas" note by note.

Or listen Mozart's Symphony in G minor and write all the instrument parts down.

There are many ways to measure musical talent, and those are few of them, in which YOU will fail but musically talented people will not.

I'd love to see you try to rap along word for work with eminem or 2pac, you'd be fucking mumbling at best. You'd probably have a better shot at playing Paco de LickmyNuts album "Cositas Buenas" note by note with your cock.

Well, let me tell you this much. It's much easier for you to rap along Eminem than for me to rap along Finnish rappers. Way more difficult language to articulate, and get the needed "flow". But I've heard Eminem, and I've rapped along with no difficulties.

Even if you're tone deaf, you still might have a sense of rhythm, and that might give you a career in rap. But if you're tone deaf, forget about becoming the next Miles Davis, Mozart or Quincy Jones.

Bethoven was deaf bro and he seemed to do ok

It's a different kind of music all together. I really don't like any new stuff I've heard, but a) I'm East Coast and live in fuggin Utah, and b) I fuggin live in Utah. Fuggin Utah. They still Baby Got Back out here. If you want to ease yourself into it, pick up some old Tribe, De La, Beatnuts, Pharcyde, etc. That could help you out.

Lestat said:

In 1801 Beethoven revealed to his friends his increasing deafness. So he wasn't born deaf, and in his mind he wasn't tone deaf even if he couldn't hear anything anymore.

Yeah 40 + other million worldwide can sing along to eminem too. Thats what made him rich :)

Now, try and create what he did. Try to create the music in your own head and you see just how talented some of these rappers are. Designing a true a flow is more difficult than people think, I think.

and hey man, if what these black rappers are doing as so stupid, why are we they ones talking about them while they're probably managing their bankfunds or fucking some dime peice of a broad? your hating on the wrong people lol, you're hating on hustlers, businessmen. not the true lyrists and emcess. The guys you see and hear today openly admit that this is all for the cash and pretty near follow up bullshit with more bullshit, but people still feed em cash so you still get to feel them, you know what im sayin? know what im saying? holla back if yuh smell meh.

lmao, its all good. they're not enjoying the music for us.

i have an on going feud with mr.db or so i think. see, he thinks he's winnning with this rap debate, but little does he know, my debate strategy is to simply outlive him. fuck using factual knowledge to argue. He's already half-way there, so i figure i probably win by default.

Britney sells more records than Cassandra Wilson, so albums sales don't mean shit when it comes to talent. That we all know.

The actual rapping doesn't make rappers respected, it's the lyrics. They squeeze their story into 5 minutes. You want a good story? Well buy a good book. It last longer than rap album. :artist:

it just lols me that perkele disses rap music then goes on to bob steely dan's knob.
maybe if he was bobbing a respectable knob, like paul mccartney or mick jagger, i wouldn't lol so hard. but he is dick riding what most of us (us=young and hip) think as boring and played

Among musicians, you really think they respect Mick Jagger more than Donald Fagen and Walter Becker. They might respect his lips more. lol

lol yeah right.
in the annals of music history mic is gonna be at the top of the list.
your butt buddies will be long forgotten.
shows your "quality" of taste that you would put these peeps ahead of jagger...have they actually produced an album 1/10th as good as Exile On Main street? or Some girls?
truely a shame to make the claims that you make

lol, what a musical moron you are. I doubt you've ever even heard a Dan song. My butt buddies are in the rock n' roll Hall of Fame with Elvis and the Beatles. Your Vanilla Ice will never be there.

lol @ calling me a musical moron.
dude i live in america, home of classic rock.
all this bullshit that you think is so cool is played and played and played on every classic rock radio station from nyc to la.
maybe they are still big in finland or norway, but i'm telling you bor they are not that popular here...a steely dan show would be played a county fairgrounds, while the stones pack stadiums across the globe

LOL @ other genres fading away.. That's some funny shit right there ^..

Everyone is down if you count sales other than Latin ..
Hip Hop/Rap sales numbers are right up there with Country.. LOL

Or maybe you would rather have "What's the word on the street corner" ?
Or numbers on what's illegally being shared and ripped ?

That's not the point here. Do they care if 13 year old girls are not buying their albums. No! Those guys are praised by their colleagues, and by music critics that actually know the difference between C major and C minor.

You've gone off-topic more than twice already so better go play with your bling blings.

Country and Rap are both huge, yes.

for you people who think rappers have no talent or even little talent you are absolutly wrong. The average person could NEVER put together a rap song no matter how simple or idiotic you think it is. and that's writting the song. the best rappers don't even write their songs they freestyle them off the top of their heads in the studio. Not a damn person on this board could freestyle for more than 30 seconds without messing up. The flow of a rap song is so smooth with the way they put the lines together it really is art. and for those that say they don't play instruments. SO. everyone uses computers and calculators these days. why? because it's much more effective and you can get much better results using them. hip hop producers use computerized equiptment such as synisizers and drum machines cuz they are effective. and again no one this board could produce a track worth listerning to. a lot of people also say they are just talking and they can't sing. trust me they are doing much more than talking. a lot of rappers rap voices sound much different than their talking voices. so for anyone out there thinking that these guys have little talent you should really reconsider

lol @ perkele trying to compare the flow of Eminem with Mozart!!!

people couldnt do much with rap beyond dr.suess type stuff. They could probably come up with a few sequential rhymes, but to recite it in the form of song with controlled vocals and breathing, that's where the people would lose their mind. Once they actually heard the beat of the song going and once they actually had to write and recite their lyrics on the go, they'd be overwhelmed and realize that there is a whole lot more to it than reading and writing some poetry.

I'm not saying they don't have lyrical talent and that the lyrics aren't akin to awesome poetry in some regards.

But calling it "Music" in the usually agreed to sense is what I can't grasp..

We agree to disagree I guess.

^ that tells me alot, actually. See, because you disagree with statement, that tells me that you dont actually realize what goes on with the writing process/singing process.

Bet you would never guess that rappers get vocal training and sing with singers.... lol..

...Because as you know, when most people read off into the mic with a beat in the background, because of the simplicity and nature of rap, it automatically sounds like a rap song being performed...turn the beat on, press record, start reading your words off the paper -- multimillion selling single.

hey, that sounds pretty easy, maybe you should do that?

seizer said:

Correct I guess.
I only understand what goes on with the music listening process.
Hence my commentary.

Rick Ross is in Def Jam records. He's a new rapper out of Miami

Slang expressions to convey group identity annoy me for they show a disregard for proper English and low self esteem unless it is done for humor ... Snoop for example.

It is more than just rappers who are guilty. Ever listen to "teen talk", where the words "like", "basicly" "oh my god", "awsome", "and then she said" just goes on and on? I tune out any person who does this.
