I wish someone would press charges already. Then maybe there wouldnt be all these middle class white thugs who think that "black is cooler". No race should be "better, cooler" than another, but as long as blacks are allowed to get up in front of national television and ridicule white people, without whites having the ability to do the same thing, this will never happen

this is or could turn into a race/debate/issue and somewhere...someone...somehow...would be offended but would like to see someone start an objective non-flaming thread about these issues.....maybe if we can avoid the anger...stereotypes...hate-instilled beliefs....and talk....might help ALL OF US to come to understand better.....I go overseas and there is none of this tension floating in the air.....and a lot of them think we are stupid.....and petty.....and I believe a lot of us are....

You have to realize that BET gives a forum from up and coming comedians who arent established yet..think of this:

DL HUghley, one of my favorites, started out as the ORIGINAL host of that show,and plenty others have come through da circuit..

hey, chris rock, chris tucker, bernie mac, etc all started from somewhere...

I dont think this is a race issue, just cultural..i'm with bignate, i think Chris Tucker is hilarious and Seinfield barely amuses me..why? Not cuz i'm "black" or a "wannabe" but cuz da shit Chris Tucker talks about is stuff I talk about and in the same way I view them thats all

black comedians speak on topics that effect the majority of their audience.

Uh, they make fun of white people. My friend is as far from rascist as one could get, and he has told the funniest "black person" or, dare I say, "nigger," jokes I've ever heard.

Black man goes on TV and makes fun of white people and it's "funny" and he "meant no harm." White man goes on TV and makes fun of black men and the National Association for the Aggravation of Caucasian People (Thanks Natymike) wants him crucified.

Now the real question here should be, does Warik actually care about 99% of black comedians' jokes being white jokes? Does this hurt poor thin-skinned Warik's feelings?

No. I know it's all in good fun. I don't laugh, but it doesn't bother me. Warik cares about black people throwing a fit when a white guy tells the "why do black people drive nice cars, wear nice jewelry, wear expensive clothes, but live in shitty houses?" joke when it's supposed to be "funny" and "meaning no harm."

Double standards sure suck, don't they?

I understand Waik's point cuz I hear black folks joke about asians alot and make fun of the accent...I get mad too but I just look at it and say, hey whatever if its funny its funny...I get it IS taboo to tell a black joke, but when I'm with my best friend who's black, I crack on da brothas all the time and he laughs...I guess its like this:

If you KNOW the black person and joke and make fun its all good..Just like I dont care if my friends tease me about being korean...I guess the white jokes being told is cuz I think too many white people laugh at them therefore blacks feel comfortable telling them...

And, who should press charges against BET, Champ? The Ku Klux Klan? I don't find the comedians on BET funny at all (there are rare exceptions), but I have my own reasons for not watching that station which aren't pertinent to this thread. From what I've read on this thread, though, a lot of you have what it takes to be the kind of white comedian you crave for. First, continue talking with that slow, shuffling nigger dialect you've been typing, make sure to reinforce those stereotypes about niggas driving big cadillacs and living in the ghetto in your monologue, and last (but certainly not least), slap on some blackface with a big, white, grinning smile (you know; for effect). Do all of the above, and you're guaranteed success with the National Association For The Aggravation Of Caucasian People... and White Supremacists, Nazis... get the picture?

At first I was merely saying that I do not like the phony speach patterns that seem to come with the job that almost all black comedians have. And I was saying how funny it is how some of the people laugh so hard on that show.

My second opinion about pressing charges does NOT mean that I am insulted by the comments that blacks make about white people. I peronally think that alot of them are true and funny as hell.

My opinion was saying that
1. Either no one is ALLOWED to make fun of everyone else.
OR
2. Everyone is ALLOWED to to make fun of everyone else.

BEcuase in this society in which we live in, If a white person says a racial remark, he is condemed. If a black person makes the same racial remark, everyone laughs.

And its funny Mitchellm, blacks can riot in cities about somthing they are upset about, yet I cannot speak my mind on a chatboard without getting flamed. And all we are talking about is fairness. Isnt that what blacks are fighting for too?

Hey dumbass, are you reading these threads?? you are obviously a minority because you refuse to listen to reason. You are viewing every comment as being racist. You refuse to recognize the double standard and you obiously want to live in the most politically correct society on earth.

Blacks make fun of white stereotypes on national television. You obviously believe that the black stereotypes you have listed are racist, so why are the white stereotypes not racist?? Is there any reason at all?? Can I get an explanation without you talking about James Byrd Junior or the KKK???
