I'm about to order so I need answers quick :)

If I get a pair of Light bands for squatting will two 45lb plates hold each side down them down? I'm 5'9"

also to set em up, does the band have to be tensioned at the bottom of the squat? I do full olympic style squats

I think I will only be using em on my light (135lb) speed squats, they will stop the bar from coming off my back?

Hmmmm...you will probably need something else to help to anchor it down. I would actually suggest either the light or the medium bands...for squats.

You are a creative guy though...like me...you will figure SOMETHIGN out.

VERY interested to see how you can use them for high pulls, etc...

well just for squats for now.

I just want to be able to explode hard all the way up, without the abr coming off my back when doing the really fast squats I do.

since my gym's powerack don't have anywhere apart from the pins to hook the bands around I'll need to use dumbells or plates at a guess. Just how much weight is a question for the light bands

Just take your time and find what dbells you need. 100s should work fine.

thanks

guess I'll go ahead and order a pair

so the bands need to be slightly tensioned at the bottom of teh squat?

You can play with the tension. I can NOT tighten mine down at the bottom...so I do it on the bar.

one last question will the light bands nail the bar to my back and force me to drive like my life depended upon it? :)

Light should be enough for me, I'm just sick of slowing down at the top, which is where I need to go hard for jumping :)

ntoice that you wrap em up several times

Cool... Why not attach the band to the saftey pins in the rack? Thats what I do... If you get in trouble you can still just dump the bar off your back....

I keep the held to the ground with a steel block then wrap them around the bar till they are lose/tight/tighter/super tight.

CoolColJ -

Damn, that girl is hot as hell. Just thought I might add that in, while we were on the subject of snatches :)

I hope you hook it up. And BTW, keep up the good work with the pics!

Well I ordered a pair of lights, thought about getting a few more heavier ones, but it will cost too much and frankly its better to dip my toes into the water for now. I just hope it's not too heavy and not too light

can you describe how you go about setting it up?

Do you put the bar on the safety pins first and then wrap the bands around it, then squat it back up to the rack supports before putting the plates on?

cool, my pin holes on my rack start up too high to put bands on...so what i do is have a buddy tilt the rack...and i loop the bands around the base...then he puts the rack back down and we throw a 45lb plate on each side of the rack just to make sure...and we are set

this is what i mean sorta:

and sorry for that one big run on sentance

T3C - ok thanks, but what is bugging me is this -

I read the Dave Tate article on Tmag about the bands, He says you need tension on them right at the bottom of say a squat. So hoe did you go about setting up the bands so you get tension at the bottom. Did one of you guys get into the squat (bottom position) and someone adjusted the bands?

Since I train by myself at a commercial gym, I need to figure out a way to get the band tension setup right for a full squat
