Better to use a combination of proteins, as opposed to just whey?

Lately on my bulk cycle I've been using Optimum Nutrition 100% whey in all my between-meal shakes, and NLarge post-workout. I seem to be doing quite well (up 16lbs in week 7), but in retrospect, should I have been using a more complete protein mix (i.e. casein, whey, egg white, hydrolyzed, etc...)? I may opt to get something different next, since I am running short on my current supply anyways. Help would be appreciated, thanks

If you're still bulking and improving then why make any changes!
As the old saying goes"if it ain't broke don't fix it".

so long as you are eating other whole foods, the amino acid spectrum in whey is very good. i used to use soy protein as well, because it has an arguably better aa spectrum, but worse bioavailability

that being said, there wont be a huuuuge difference even with other protein sources

cheers

Theoratically the best benefit ever in terms of blood amino acids levels would be obtained if you would take Whey every about 1.5 hours. Even if that translates to just 15-25g each time, it would still yield best results in terms of amino acids levels. That said, in reality people don't have time to take whey every 1.5 hours (I do!). So in that case a much better option would be something like Met-RX Protein Plus. Their formula contains a mix of Calcium Caseinate, Egg albumin, Milk protein concentrate, glutamine and whey protein isolate. That would give the best effect possible for short term and long term amino acids blood levels.

Like what GD said, as long as eating other protein sources you'll be good. I have whey first thing in morning and after workouts, all other times, mainly 2 hours before bed I have egg+milk protien shake, for slower release through the night.

Ok, thanks for the replies guys, I suppose I am getting a full amount of aminos through whole foods since I am still growing well. I will leave things as they are, and just continue with good 'ol whey, and maybe toss in something different every now and then.
