Yeah, how exactly are they better? Closer to label claims, better taste, etc? The nutritional info still looks like a candy bar plus protein...

Odyssey Bars
They just taste a lot better. Seems like when one company does something the rest try and follow. Detour Bars are still good though !!! A Big Ass Candy Bar with 30 grams of Protein !!!!!

I've heard debate about the protein content of Detour bars...that it's gelatin that ups the protein count and not quality, readily absorbable protein. I dunno, just seems when something taste too good to be true, it usually is.

Protein Bars
Lets not forget about the Detour, Uturn or Odyssey bars. The main reason to have the protein bars is to supplement times when its hard to get that Protein meal in. Sometimes when its too hard to get to a regular meal or an MRP then its better to have a Protein bar than nothing at all. When I'm movie hopping which means I am going to the movies and I decide to watch a few of them that could take 8 hours. Now I have no time for a regular meal or a Meal replacement. In my small bag I have room for about 3 meal replacement bars. So that mean I don't have to go without getting the necessary protein every 2 to 3 hours. If I can have a regular meal or a MRP then I won't do the bars. But they are so good.....Maybe 1 might not hurt.

Not in all cases. If that protein meal comes laden with hidden carbs, I'd rather nothing at all. But that just me, since I'm on keto. I rarely find myself away from actual food anyway, so I guess I'm lucky in that respect.
