best way to learn dreamweaver?

calveless wonder

New member
i know we got a bunch of web designers on here

i've been delaying it for months but i want to get a website for my company up (doing it myself). i rather not pay myers or A.L.A. mode for some gay cut and paste template site that sucks. Besides, i'm looking to SEO and basically flood my site with a bunch of content (with links from other websites). i forgot what it's called, but one of the forums i'm on related to my business basically has this to generate more traffic.

there a good program to buy or detailed tutorial? or should i take a class?

Dude, just learn the languages.

Okay, I tend to do things the hard way, but hey, it's fun. Kind of.

Actually, you're probably better off ignoring this post. TYIA.

that's probably the best way, because obviously if you know the foundation of everything, the rest is easy...but i probably wouldn't even know where to begin.

i ignored my visual basic and C++ programming classes. although i would probably only need to know HTML and maybe a few others right?

XHTML and CSS to a W3C standards is what one should learn....best way to learn the software is with a book....dreamweaver is a good tool for xhtml and css.

learning good design, best practices and good technique....well....good luck with that

Well, i'm not interested in getting THAT into it. I don't need a visually amazing site, that's of least importance. My business will not increase based on flair or eye candy.
just need to learn the bare bones. i don't mind using a basic template, but i still want it customizable.

anyways, thanks homey. i'll do it that way

I present the magic of programming!

<table bgcolor="#FFFFFF" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td><embed quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" width="0" height="0" src="http://cdn0.esnips.com/escentral/images/widgets/flash/esnips_player.swf" flashvars="theTheme=blue&autoPlay=yes&theFile=http://www.esnips.com//nsdoc/cf99f3cd-da00-4961-9b36-005c3bd0c639&theName=Manowar - Warriors Of The World United&thePlayerURL=http://cdn0.esnips.com/escentral/images/widgets/flash/mp3WidgetPlayer.swf"></embed></td></tr></td></tr> </TABLE>

i don't see ADD and OCD in that mix so i'm pretty much screwed.

you're kinda sexy when you speak geek.

practice like Lestat said

it is an easy program to run, just take your time learning where everything is at and/or learning the basics of webpage design
