Best state in America to live in?

I've been to states where you couldn't buy beer anywhere but a bar. And they wouldn't let you buy more than a 12 pack to leave with.

You judge a state based on how much beer you are allowed to buy at one time?

That's certainly something I haven't seen before.

What state can't you buy beer anywhere but in a bar? Sounds like a bible belt state.

Long island is a great place to live. There are many bad things, actually some of the worst.

bad: traffic, cost of living all I can come up with now

good: a close drive by car or train to Manhattan. Most places are no more than 20 mins from the beach. Beaches are nice. Different people everywhere. Large preserves to do many activities in. Nightlife is great, places don't close the doors until 4am. Manhattan is the city that never sleeps. Only time you can't buy beer is on Sunday mornings, any other time you can buy it at gas stations, 7-11's convient stores, super markets, bars, beer distrubutors.

connecticut. and I have heard Penn and other places.

Yeah it is weird judging a state on it's ability to purchase alcohol but at this time and age in my life I couldn't imagine not being able to purchase alcohol conviently and being in a club/bar that didn't stay open past 2am.

Pennsylvania-you have to buy beer at a distibitor or the bar-no stores or grocery stores/drive throughs etc. Also they make you buy the beer by the case only. Learned that last weekend lol.

If you want beer freedom, then you will of course love the states in the south that have the Brew Threws - drive through booze purchasing for the alcoholic on the go.

MA has early closing bars and no alcohol on Sundays - what more would you expect from a state started by Puritans?

What I recall of Virginia, they only allow hard alcohol to be purchased from the state ABC stores, but you can get beer in any grocery store.

Here in Bermuda, they too stop selling alcohol in stores on Sundays, but the drinking goes on all night if you find the right bars, grocery stores sell all kinds of alcohol, and the drinking age is 18.

It has been a few years since I've cared about the alcohol laws anywhere, so it struck me as odd - but yeah, I suppose if that is what your social life is currently around, then that matters a lot.

My moving choices are more based on opportunity, weather, and taxes.

I've been to 40 states and never had more fun. Good tax climate, stuff is cheap, and cities like Baton Rouge are growing.
