There's no way I can argue that 500 mgs won't produce better results than 250 mgs. But the reasoning behind lower dosage is one of safety. Not everyone wants to be on for life. And to raise T levels 10X's beyond what the body could possibly produce on its own is a shock to the system.
Some of the guys from the pre-steroids days looked amazing and it was probably because their T levels were closer to 1000 ngs than the standard 500ngs or so. Do you know that 250 mgs will raise T to between 1000-2000ngs? ESPECIALLY for a first timer because they'll still have a higher natural T level. ANYONE who knows how to train will make good gains on that. (Incidentally, it seems the guys who take the LOWER dosages look better than the guys who take the higher dosages. Hmmm)
Sure, just dabbling is a waste. But it's good to test the waters. No one knows how they're going to react. Some guys get gyno from 10 mgs of d-bol a day. Others can take a shot of sus a day and no such problem.
Hell, if just knowing you're something makes you train harder and eat better, you'll make progress. And that's the name of the game -- not how much water weight you can gain for a couple of months.
Not trying to push anything here. Everyone makes a valid point. Just another perspective.
