i say stay in socks. i find it better just lifting in socks then anything, but if really necessary i have heard a lot of converse, idk the flat foot shoes they have because they don't provide any support and its just like wearing socks.

I used to be an exclusive user of 'chucks. But one thing that always bothered me was that if you ever trained on hardwood (like on many platforms) they slid all over the place. I am not an Otomix user. They are just as flat, have more ankle support, and best of all do not move around on the hard surfaces.

You just want a solid sole that doesn't give. If you lack ankle flexibility Oly shoes will help with squats; not so much for deads.

Chucks for squats and deads and OLY shoes for all OLY similar lifts.

I hear you on Chucks sliding. All lifts should be one on a rubber mat, carpet, or something similar.
