best and worst dressed

stilleto

i was watching some show about the best and worst dressed celebs at some recent award show. the commentators were two people i didn't recognize, and christian ciriani- the fag from project runway who called everything a 'hot mess'.

they kept looking at one person and saying they were dressed terribly because their hair was down and plain. or their hair was up and too old. or their hair was too messy, or too severe.
The dresses were either terrible because they were too plain, or too tight, or too revealing, or too young, old, whatever. then the best dressed people had all the same looks and I couldn't figure out which dress was going to go into which category.

they even showed two men who wore almost the exact same thing and said it 'worked' for one guy, but not for the other.

is there any reasoning to that crap?

I do not watch the award shows on television. However I read somewhere about the last show they had. The best dressed list was terrible, some of those ladies looked great and their dresses were beautiful. However they were in fact pulling that stupid shit about hair too plain, dress too puffy, dress to plain, etc. It is bullshit. Many of the women look great in what they choose.

even the judges couldn't agree. and these people are actors, not designers. but the dresses they wore were designer dresses, so who the hell are these judges to say that someone wearing an oscar de l'renta dress "the worst"?

Really it should be there stylist that gets in shit not the celeb I bet over 80% of the people that go to the Oscar's go in whatever there stylist told them was best.

true.

i can barely tell what is worst and what is best, unless it's goofy strange.

I am no mo here lol, but do have a input that might be valid. Some people look for different things as art. Stilleto will kinda see this. So you take you piece you worked. I call it art. You created it, and you added what you liked and so forth. You created a art piece. Right now I am in a weird band. Sometimes my bass is a bass, and sometimes my bass is a color. And all the instruments are adding to this collage of color creating a painting of sound. (sometimes I pull off some crazy lines on my bass that you wouldn't think of, like trumpet lines, just in a lower octave). Well, these designers look at their clothes as art. And the hairdressers have their art. The sad part is the judging, granite their is good and well not so good. I feel for the actors and actresses who are judged by clothing. It's a silly game to get someone's artwork seen.

We all have that instilled within us to a degree, judging that is. But this type of judging is just a way to make money and name...... That's why if I wanna watch TV I go to ex's apartment. I don't watch much TV. Much rather do things to stay busy.

Peace out guys! LOL had to throw that in... don't hang me.

certain outfits/looks work for some people but not others; i don't understand how that is confusing

i do totally get that, but it's SO subjective that nobody can make a 'list'.
nobody can go into MOMA (museum of modern art) and say "bad, bad, good, bad, good" because what's good to you is crap to me.
plus, these people are critiquing master designers dresses on tiny holywood bodies.

i thought the first one was the best, the second one was hideous, and the third one was moderate.
but what the hell do i know about dresses? lol

i think i actually like the last one.
that's the one they hated, of course. it's pretty, and different from the others, but not strange.
