i kno this is a roid cite, i was jus wondering somthing, i am on no supplements and i just benched 280 on machine, like the normal machine where u set the plates w/ pin and the bar where u push is a little above ur nipples but below ur shoulders. i never max on free weights just workout w/ them, i just did 280 on machine, how much aprox could i do on free weights? i did this after 3x10 on free weight bench. and after i jump on my deca and dbol how much u think my bench would go up then? machine wise and free weight wise

FknKnuckelHD is wrong, you need the radius of the room rather than the circumference although you could find the radius if you knew the circumference (C = 2*pi*r)

Use the following formula:

BP (free weights) = X -Z^2 - (H-J)^0.5

where X = what you benched on the machine, Z is your body weight divided by the radius of the room, H is your body temperature (in Celcius) and J is the temperature of the room (also in Celcius).

heh-heh. C'mon guys, be nice. Dude, there is no way to tell the answers exactly to these questions. The good news is that finding out the answers on your own is a lot of fun. And is accompanied by a lot of acne.

Well let me break the news to the moronic answer, why don't you just carry yourself on over to the bench press and start putting weights on and FIND OUT FOR YOUR OWN F#KING SELF! GEEZ..why are there so many dam stupid questions..ugggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...i'm having a roid rage on idiots and i'm not even on my cycle! lol

Most people on this board would tell you not to mess with any AAS untill you have 5 years of training under your belt. Don't be lazy. Most people can bench 280 in 6months of lifting.

alright man, the machine carryover to freeweights: there is no way for us to know. depends on the machine, who has used it before, and what they have been able to do on there relative to what they do freeweight-wise.

how much you can do when "on", again another unknown. depends on how much muscle you put on, how much more you eat, how much rest you get, how well developed your nervous system gets.

first step, get to freeweights so you can have a real weight to brag about. machine lifts dont really translate to real world talk of strength for the most part. most gyms have different machines, there is no standard.....unless you use freeweights.

hmm, i didnt really learn alot, i'm 17 and weigh 165 was jus wondering if i do 280 on machine how much free weight, thx can n e one giv me a damn guess lol

You're looking for an answer that nobody here can give you, and probably nobody at your gym either. Like Nate said, there are too many variables to give any kind of precise guess. Your best bet is to stick with free weights to build up your core strength.

I am hoping that you're joking about taking any steroids at this time. It is way too soon to even consider. Your first goal is to push yourself to your max., naturally.

PS. This isn't just a "roid site," there are a lot of people here who have accomplished some amazing lifts, and physiques without steroids. Steroids are not some magic pill that will give you a bodybuilder's body. It takes tons of hard work, good diets, and intelligent lifting to get where they are. If you have the desire and dedication you can join them in pushing your body to it's limits, but there are no shortcuts.

Did you take into account the atmospheric pressure ?

There is a dozen different bench machines, which one are you talking about.

I remember back in my "HIT" days I trained exclusively on the Hammer Wide Chest machine for 8 months. I could rep 270lbs on it. I decided to see what I could do on the bench. I "STRUGGLED" to get 165lbs up once. PATHETIC. Machines at least for me do not carry over to barbell strength whatsoever, but maybe that's just me. On the other hand, the reverse seems to be true for barbells to machines. HAHA! 1 more proof that free weights are superior.

1 question. Are free weights really free?

No, they are forbiden from leaving the gym at all times. They are not free, they are prisoners, its no life for them. FREE THE WEIGHTS! :insane:

i seem to be weaker on machines. it could be the fact that i rarely use them. i think it has to do with the fact that most machines are not made for my body size. handles are too wide, seat is too low, pully is in the wrong place and makes my rotators ache...... blah blah blah. i like free weights for almost everything. nothing like total control over a peice of steel.
