Bench Press Grip

Where do you guys grip the bar for bench press?

I have mine as wide as legally possible, index finger on the rings.

Is there any strength or power disadvantage to this wide of a grip?
 
I use the same grip as you. I have very long arms, and I use this to reduce the ROM. I also get the most out of my shirt that way, since it increases the tension.
 
I keep my middle finger on the ring. I find it easier to keep my lats tight at the bottom and off my chest, if I keep my hands in a little.
 
If nyou really want to get specific it grip is formulated by body size. If your over 5'8" 220 your safe with your index fingers on the ring.

That can't be good on the shoulders. I am willing to bet that your will get a very bad injury if you keep that up once you get to really heavy weight.

Darn, and I thought I was up to some pretty heavy weight......
 
Widest possible....thumbs on the rings...false grip. Never used to like it. Tried it one day and I can't switch back. I actually tried to go back to a thumb grip index on the rings and it feels awkward.
