Bench PR Video

You maniac. Got me by 3 pounds punk. That's how my maxes usually look, too. Must have felt great to push 3 plates. Good job. I'll let the experts tear it apart.

VERY cool PR!!

I wonder if a shorter bench would help keep you more stable.

Height or length? I could "shorten" the bench in length by moving the pins and using the other side of the rack, which would leave some room above my head on the bench, if that makes any sense...

Thanks guys.

btw, that's a 66 pound increase since April. Despite my large weight gain over that time period, its actually improved even when compared to bodyweight!

I've been benching for a lot longer than I have been squatting/deadlifting, so I'm surprised its progressed at such a rate.

I'm too short :bawling:

I place blocks under my feet when I bench. My bench is way to high as well.

I checked the height requirements for powerlifting compeition, and put blocks bringing my feet up to that height.

Otherwise, my feet barely touch the ground.:D

I'm glad I don't have collars because they wouldn't crash against each other if I did :D

Be careful: when I benched 295 with no collars my lockout was a little uneven and the weights started sliding off.

I could deal with that. The funniest was when I was box squatting, fell straight through the box I was using, got thrown backwards by the weight and had the plates slide off and cause mayhem on their way to a hault :D

Good grief, that must have been scary.

One time I tried to decline bench 300, even though my max was about 275 at the time. I had some boxes to catch the weight, but the box slid and I almost got decapitated. That's when I decided it was time to buy a power rack! My life passed before my eyes on that one.

Damn that's a good PR, I'm still hoping to break the 300 mark this winter. How much do you weigh, you looked good and strong on that, and without a spotter that's tough. That was a very enthusiastic arm pump at then end "YES!"

cheesecake is correct :)

I was pleased with the lift, hence the "yes". I tried to muster some NY crew-style screams, but it proved difficult training alone, so that's the best I could do.

194 pounds at the moment. And I agree, its much harder benching without a spotter, but I survive.

looks good, You seem to have a sticking point about 4" off the chest but your tris and shoulder take up the slack and create a very strong lockout. Maybe a little more lat work and some more rotator cuff stuff, but that is a great pr

youre bench looks similar to mine, it seems if you're elbows flare a little a few inches above your chest ??
or maybe its just me

I think they do a little. Still trying to break old habits.
