Being BIG or being skilled???

break the fuckers knee cap out...he could have 200pds on you, he will be crying like a baby.

well size can be turned against you cus it takes mroe for you to do the same amount of work
but size usually comes with strength and I've never seen strength hurt you more then the other guy
you may break your fist but he probubly took some serious damage to

All things equal, the stronger will win, sure. When is everything going to be equal? Even if the attributes of both fighters are level, there's the probability of someone screwing up. Everyone makes mistakes, and even if everything about the fighters was equal, save 40 lbs. on one guy, that bigger guy could still go to take a step forward and land the ball of his foot wrong, causing him to lose but a second, and that could end it there.

Too many variables to determine, really. It's all a game of chance, provided some level of skill is involved, in any fight.

That all being said, I'd say skill would ultimately be more important. There are more small, skilled fighters taking out bigger people, than there are big, bulky, biker-esque guys who get enraged in bars taking out those same small, skilled fighters...ya' know?

True enough -- equality in a fight is an elusive concept in reality.

So I concur. I am a small guy -- 5'10" about 180 in shape now (I gained ten pounds over the past three years...lol). I have taken out some big guys and I am not even a trained fighter. But I am aware and I am a thinker, and I am not prone to anger or panic.

So I will admit that I agree that skill is a better asset than strength. Knowledge and skill combined with calmness and LOVE (yes, love) is the ultimate combination. Haters and aggressive angry people with chips on their shoulder generally wind up in a gutter with their heads cracked open sooner or later.

Intelligence and wit are up there too. If you can diffuse a fight it doesn't matter how badass your opponent is -- you aren't fighting so you both win.

I'm pretty bright and quick thinking, but I think too much when sparring and stuff
I think so much I wind up slowing myself down
skill is about not screwing up more then it is doing something someone else can't do
the guys teaching me to fight dont' even think of it as teaching me what to do, they call it correcting my mistakes (or teaching me what not to do)

This is one of the oldest debates. There are far too many variables for broad statemenst about size and no training Vs. training but small. One thing I do know, a good big man beats a good little man every time.

In high school my freshman year I wrestled in the 165 pound weight class. My coach wanted me to focus less on using my natural strength and more on my technique so he always had me work with the 189 pounders and heavyweights. He also wanted the bigger guys to learn how to handle a more technical wrestler. I consistently beat them because I was almost or as strong as they, MUCH faster, and much more skilled. In a street fight.....who knows.

see i think regardless of size a smaller guy can at worst defend himself and avoid getting injured if he is well trained..whatever that is.

a street fight is not necessarily about winning or hurting the other guy it is about your own safety and making it through the situation and not ending up in the hospital.

you have to protect yourself and your friends if need be
