Before and After pics. Big improvement.

I have a DVD player on the counter and a pretty big Sat receiver on the chair. I put them both inside the cabinet underneath the countertop. The wires were ugly looking, I put them all in the wall and they`re also in the cabinet. I had to put the Sat receiver sideways and take one of the shelves out to make it fit. lol

The Sat recever works with an antenna and remote, but the DVD player only needs a 6 foot remote extension that I`ll have instead of that cable plate (underneath the TV and to the right, in the pic) So I just point the remote to that eye and control the DVD player.

I love the clean look now. Ahhhh HIGH DEF rocks! It`s only 22" though. oh well, it`s a kitchen. Now I realize I could have fit a 26 inch.

damn....why you need a tv in the kitchen or whatever?

I think I have stated on here many times that I RARELY watch television.

However, I have one in every room of my house. Kitchen, living room, office, 3 bedrooms, the bar, even a 36" I have mounted in the bathroom. Only my closets and garage do not have a television in them.

I also put in 2 outlets inside the cabinet so everything could be plugged in without seeing the cords sticking out the door. I ran a telephone line in there for Caller ID on the screen. I love that part, phone rings, it pops up on the screen. lol

If I had wall space behind me, I`d put a decent spair of speaers because those are about 7 watts (just for better clarity/quality, not volume)

Much better. What DBS provider do you get your HD from?

Dish Network. I used to have the regular receivers from DirecTv which I loved but to upgrade would have cost me about $1000 for the HD receivers and new dish and stuff. So I dropped them and went with the FREE Everything from Dish. Losers, I was spending about $100 month with DirecTv, they just lost my business.

Maybe I`ll wait a few years and switch back as a "new customer" lol and get a free install with receivers.

I also have an antenna inside my attic for HD locals.

LOL Those are speed dial numbers. We just never push the little drawer back up into place. It`s always down like that. I don`t use them that often so I don`t remember them. lol That`s funny... and stupid. ehh

I think you have the same placemats as Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. Also, do you run a doctor's office out of the kitchen with that phone?

Red lights flashing... someone sending you bad phone karma.

LMAO You guys see everything. Do you see my daughter on the left side in the first pic? I did`nt either until someone pointed it out.

The flashing light is an auto answer button so when the phones "communicate" with each other or you get paged, you don`t have to press the speaker button. I have all the same phones in every room of the house and it`s also an intercom system (Panasonic phone system) They talk to each other and the front and back doors and can have the door unlock to let someone in from any room/phone in the house. (no it`s not a loud buzz, it`s a very low "click") It`s very convenient.

oh. electrical stuff.

i just popped in because i thought this was all about your body, and SOMEONE ahd to remind you to label which are the befores, and which are the afters ;)

you did a good job GL, looks great :)

This is the Command Control of the system(s).

Now the room looks nice!
The black telephone on the wall remembers me the video of an alien autopsy...lol

Did you install the command control yourself?

No, that`s the only thing I did NOT do electrically in the whole house. I ran all the wiring for everything like outlets and switches, lights etc. and I ran all the phone and cable TV wiring, alarm, and speaker wiring throughout the house and connected everything EXCEPT my ex-boss/cousin made the connections in that phone system and alarm box above it.

hook everything up in series? hahaha

Did your TV come with a big "wal-wart" DC power converter? My parents have the same set up at home, the 22" flat screen mounted on the kitchen wall. We ended up getting a piece of the mount fabricated so it could sit on the back, I am curious as to what you did?

This is what I used. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ZlhhAJXXwfa/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=156550&I=305WMTL227

It`s made for this particular TV, other brackets will not work because of the TV`s design. It just came out I think.

I could have and maybe should have built my own, it would have bought the TV closer to the wall. No big deal it`s cool. Is your parent`s a Samsung?

Also, I don`t really know what the cost would be because I did everything myself. The phones by themselves cost about $150 each, it adds up for every room. lol X 6 or 7. The Phone system (it`s a business/home unit btw) is a little pricey but they`ve come down a bit, I really don`t know the exact price, at the time I was buying everything all at once MANY thousands a month when building, I did`nt really keep track. lol and The options like caller ID and Doorphone system, remote entry, stuff like that are extra as well. $200, $300 each, that also adds up, but I do like it because it`s hardwired and they stay good for a while. There`s also mucic on hold and background music option like in the mall or something. lol

LOL Y_LIfter, I`m gonna run this thing into the ground! I think I already did.
