Beer while on AAS

How many of you guys drink a few beers once per week(3-6 beers) while on cycle?

Some of my older bros used to always say have a beer it's fine, but want to get some further thoughts.
I am also aware of the effects alcohol can have causing decreased protein synthesis, however not really sure how only a moderate amount will affect this.

Any and all comments welcome, thanks!

I read a study somewhere from SaladFork where it stated that drinking can have a negative effect on protein synthesis for up to 4 days after. That's a long time. I don't drink anyway but if I did I would just wait, but, that's just me.

i try not to drink...but being a alcoholic at heart its hard not to sometimes!lol
i would keep it to a minimum and do it sparingly...but going out every now and then having a few beers at a bar wont kill you...

think of all the work you put into training and eating right.
when you drink alot it pretty much negates all that hard work.
a few 2-3 beers wont hurt though as long as it's just once a week.

i would much rather skip the beer and save that room for pizza and icecream

A lot of people will tell you this and that and that and this...

It all depends on your goals mate. If you are not going to be competing at the olympics or competing then it really is not going to be an issue!

I have drunk once or twice a week when on cycles time and time again and I didnt have any issues. I have always trained right, eaten right, slept right and once or twice a week had a drink and have always had excellent results when on cycle.

It depends on what your goals are and how serious you want to be to get to them. I am not going to give up my life because I am on a journey to build myself an even better body.

Training and drinking really are opposites. Regardless if you are on juice or not. Personally i stay away from booze and then have a little bender 2-3 times a year where i get hammered for a night or two but that is about the extent of it. I agree you gotta live a little but just make sure its in moderation.

I always drink when I'm on I have done cycles though where I didnt drink anything and i got the same results, Now I'm talkng drinking heavy once or twice a day, not every day

lets not forget liver issues here fellas .. for people mentioning drinking heavy on cycles

From the stuff I have read (and I sure do wish I could find this stuff in the mess that is my office) alcohol not only messes with the protien systhesis but also elevates estrogen levels. I am all for having fun (shit I drank heavily for many, many years) so if that's what you want to do, then go for it but there are consequences. The liver issue is also an important one. I think it's paramount over all except for the estro issue.

alcohol is going to slow your progress. to what extent depends on your body. in my case i look at it this way. my goal is to get as far as i can in body building. at least go pro. by training hard and using drugs to alter my body i am serously abusing it. probably shortening my life. i will also only be able to to this for maybe another 10 years tops before i naturaly regress. so i will not do anything ever that is going to have a negative impact on my goals no matter how small of an impact it will be. but to me the challenge is a lot more fun than eating a candy bar or drinking alcohol any way.

i've had really similar results when i would drink and when i wouldn't, but when i was drinking i'd try to make sure my diet was absolutely perfect to kind of offset the drinking

I do once a week. I gotta enjoy this awesome frame! Girls are more important to me than AAS

so true. When you take steroids your not like everyone else, but dont make it your life. Who says you have to get 100% gains or you wont be happy? So maybe the beers throughout a cycle takes away 2% oif your gains but you got to show off your body to hoes at a bar and have a great night with your bros every week. Just be realistic, and enjoy your life and dont worry about a couple beers. Your body is amazing and the decreasing protein synthesis for up to 4 days after has got to be so minimal, theres a lot to gaining muscle besides protein synthesis. More blood and intense training will make up for the overload of protein synthesis you are alreay getting. Dont worry

if your not about to compete, a few beers wont kill you. if you are an alcoholic, u prob souldnt be doing aas anyways

I drank when I first started about 5 years ago and my progress then was nowhere near as good now that I don't. When I wasn't on a cycle it seemed like getting drunk just one night would send my progress back 3-4 weeks (thats how I calculated it with weight, reps, etc). I never drink anymore and am so much more satisfied with my progress.

+1

I like a couple beers every now and again....but for cheating i much prefer some ice cream.....mmmm.....

and I tend to hurt people when I get drunk, especially when i was on juice...

If beer is your delicacy, i would say dont deprive yourself...just remember always in moderation:)

People can say drinking ruins training, protein syn, all that stuff all you want. The truth is, it does for some people, it doesn't for others. I use 90% of my old fraternity brothers as evidence. All of them jacked, all of them drank like bastards. Some on aas, others not. Maybe thats just being young, I don't know, but it basically had no impact on our bodies and that was drinking like 6 nights/wk.

Having a few may not hurt but it is definintely counter productive for sure (as you probably already know)...I was a bartender back in college and thats when I started using aas. It was almost impossible for me not to drink while at work...some call it self-control...well maybe I didn't have any back then..

I was running straight test cycles and drank heavily around twice a week. It was probably just my ignorance at the time, but fuck whos perfect!? I did not experience any problems or health related issues. I went to the doctor regularly for bloodwork and everything was normal (normal for someone on aas).

It definitely was counterproductive from the lifting aspects. When you drink, you typically don't consume as many solid food calories as you could have. Because it is being replaced in the liquid form. Also, hangovers can fucking kill a workout like no other.

I would not suggest ever drinking on an oral. In conclusion, from my experience, I wouldn't think that having a couple beers during the week wont really affect your progress. But, having just a couple is always tough....at least for me....:)
