Beef or Turkey Jerky, better then protein bar?

Again, depends on preparation. If you own a dehydrator, it can be a fairly harmless snack.

AMEN!

1/2 cup Low Sodium Soy Sauce
4 t. brown sugar
2 T. fresh grated ginger
1 clove garlic-minced
2 lbs. cooked turkey, sliced paper thin.

Miux marinade ing. 2-gether in a bowl. Dip slices into marinade. Place dipped meat in layers in a bowl or dish. Pour remaining marin, over meat. COVER tightly and let sit in fridge for 6 - 12 hours.

Place in dehydrator until dry. While meat is drying, blot excess moisture on paper towel.

I have jerky made from deer meat with no add salt..taste great and very high in protein low in fat!

Rocket, Yummy!

Curry Jerky

1/2 tsp. salt- You can omit salt as well.
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp allspice
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1 TBL curry powder
1 tsp ground ginger
2 cloves ground garlic-minced
2 Lbs. cooked flank steak, or any other lean meat!

Basically I agree with what has been posted already...I think if you compare the sodium, sugar, and preservative content between the two - jerky is better for you if you make it yourself and use the right recipe and the best ingredients. It sure takes long to make, though.

Thanks for the recipes! :)
