Lovie smith took Cutler out. he wanted to play.
now it's confirmed he had a MCL sprain, most likely grade 2 which means it was slightly torn. which like i said, makes it difficult to plant and put all your weight on a foot as well as make any cuts (i.e. move around or step up effectively in the pocket).
people are hilarious. making assumptions when they have no fuckin clue what they're talking about.
i don't particularly care for cutler but he's never been a QB that's afraid to get hit (and he has been all year....guy took more sacks than anybody in the league). so people calling him a pussy or not tough are full of shit

I never doubted that he was legitimately injured. Personally, I think he was ineffective before he came out.
Also, as I expected the story is evolving now for damage control.
As other NFL players have expressed, to be seen walking around the sidelines with your cawk in your hand knot visibly pleading to go back in = poosie

lol another pseudo Dr. trying to diagnose. i'm not a dr, but i'm educated enough and into sports enough to understand a specific injury and the degrees of severity.

Heath evans said tear, sean peyton said low grade sprain. Technically you can argue that a sprain is a tear because tissue is damaged but there's a big difference between a grade 1 and a grade 2 MCL sprain.
And not to mention brees injured his RIGHT knee while cutler his left. As a right handed quarterback, your left foot is your plant foot and supports you. And guess what ligaments play a major role in? Of course you didn't think about that aspect of it before you just posted that.
LIke i said, i am indifferent to jay cutler but clueless assholes ripping into him without merit really pisses me off

that was the guttiest performance i've ever seen from any player in the NFL. pretty remarkable.
however, that was also his right knee so he didn't have to plant on it.He also got a ton of injections pre game to help him deal with the pain and numb his knee completely. and to cite the most extreme display of grittyness in recent memory and use that as a barometer for everybody else makes it an a unsound argument. Lets also not forget even though he played, he played pretty poorly. 0 TD's and 2 interceptions for 200 yards. Would have Billy Volek gave them a better chance to win? Hard to say, but he might have.
that's like calling every single basketball player a pussy for not limping on the court like willis reed did when they've been injured.
It's not like it matters though. His COACH pulled him *and* he came back after he injured it to finish the half. if he was such a "pussy" he would have never came back in to begin with.
i think it's funny how all the players that are criticizing him happen to be from non playoff teams

i think the stupid look on cutlers face is what peopl are basing 99% of their assumptions on. or it could be that the bears don't want another carson palmer scenario. where he was never the same after that one hit.
