I am by NO means a diet guru but what type of diet are you following?
I follow (on good days) a 40/30/30 : p/c/f

beans are all different:
dry (pinto, black, white...) have a higher GI than
fresh (green, purple, long...).
Basically I don't eat dry beans after 12 or 1 pm

Green beans I eat almost daily - my favorite are haricot vert I just steam them. Because they small and tender they don't take long to cook! :p

Long story short I only use beans as carbs.

very high in carbs

Yes, but also very high in fiber. (So the carb count is lower than you'd think. For example, 1/4 cup of dry kidney beans has 10g protein, and 27g carbs, but 7g of fiber as well, so the actual carb count is only 20....)

thanks a lot guys...i didn't mean that i wanted to use them as a source of protein..i was just wondering if they were all that bad as far as carbs were concerned..i just like them, all kinds...:)...just wondering if it was ok for me to eat them...

whoa thunder!
those are special green beans!
they are the little thin ones NOT the shredded kind

oh oui c'est francais (did I get that right?) :)

my skills in French... gone :bawling:

I meant to say the green beans are French

the "oh" was by mistake
