Barry ... I've never lost the faith

just sayin'

NYT: TARP bailout to cost less than anticipated - Business - The New York Times - msnbc.com

WASHINGTON — Even as voters rage and candidates put up ads against government bailouts, the reviled mother of them all — the $700 billion lifeline to banks, insurance and auto companies — will expire after Sunday at a fraction of that cost, and could conceivably earn taxpayers a profit.

We could conceivably not run a deficit this year too, if we'd just pull-off a ~300% surge in GDP over the next few months.

I can conceivably have a mansion and lambo while conceivably pulling in $500k next year.

conceive, believe, achieve

oh he'll get his second term....he's just going to have to deal with a GOP house and senate that will spend their days trying to figure out what kind of strange he's gettin on the side. They'll ride that all the way to 16 when they'll run Jeb and we'll do this shit all over again. LOL...not me though. I see that writing on the wall.

if he happens to be in office when the economy cums back around he'll take the credit and peep's memories will becum short

I'm hoping at some point it comes out that wall street held the entire country hostage by saying either bail us out "or else". Had they done that, and they could...all of em have most of their money overseas anyway.....they would have brought our entire econonmy to the ground within a day. They would have done the same to the republicans and please beleive the republicans would also have done the bailouts cause neither party wants that kind of overnight collapse on their term. In the long run it would have been better for us if that had happened but people kind of dont' understand what would have gone down in the short term. This isn't the 1930's anymore where people buckle down and make do by helping each other out. This current society will collapse overnight if our debt infrastructre gets yanked out from underneath us.

The money paid back by GM so far was just a shuffle game...they opened a new(not defined as TARP) credit line with the gov to pay off TARP.

Um...the bailouts were initiated by Bush. Not Obama.

True. Bush started them, then Barry put them on steroids.

Kinda like Afghanistan.
... and the domestic wire tapping program
... and drone attacks
... and recess appointments
... and deem-and-pass tactics

Maybe we should call him Bush Part Deux -- but this time he's taking your $$$.

still haven't figured it out it doesn't matter?

President Barack Obama called Monday for Congress to approve a $50 billion plan to begin upgrading the nation's crumbling infrastructure, saying such an investment is vital to creating much-needed construction jobs and keeping the nation competitive in the global economy.

Obama seeks bipartisan support for infrastructure upgrade - CNN.com

I think the ratio for public works money to jobs is about 10 million per job created. This isn't 1923 where you can have a bunch of people wielding shovels and pickaxes carving a road out of a hill...Keynes is as dead as his economic philosophy. I haven't counted more than twenty people working on multiple million dollar fed projects...they have front end loaders and modern equipment... I drive by them several times a week...all of which the fed paid money for the signs reminding me how few actual jobs were created. Hell, the fed wasn't smart enough to have those signs made by federal inmates...they contracted it out....but it probably was cheaper to use private industry than rely on slave labor with the government managing it. The government borrowing and spending on cost ineffective spending projects has "ended the recession" a year ago...how is that working out for the average American? I know Wall Street just gave massive bonuses after a taxpayer bailout while the Federal Reserve continues the policy of free money....A retarded chimp can make a profit flinging shit at a wall as investment choices if the money is almost free; No offense puddles...

WASHINGTON — End tax breaks that reward some U.S. companies with overseas subsidiaries and encourage those businesses to create jobs in other countries, President Barack Obama is telling Congress.

Obama: End tax breaks to stop overseas hiring - Politics - msnbc.com

The USA does have one of the highest corporate tax rates among industrialized countries....the "tax breaks" are a red herring. The solution is to eliminate the corporate and personal income tax system and implement a flat tax that everyone, including China, will have to pay. Yes, I support a VAT if the income tax is abolished.

They did do it to the republicans, and the republicans did the bailouts. TARP was initiated during the Bush Presidency.

True. Barry just super-sized them.

And the domestic wiretapping program.
And the afghan war.
And the deficit.
And lobbyist money.
And racial tension.
And class warfare.
And uncertainty for businesses.

"Yeehaw!" is not a domestic spending policy. <---------New bumper sticker

I used to laugh at the Canadian's and their dollar....Then Shrub started monetizing the debt and Barry put it on steroids.

I predict he'll be as looney left as ever. He's in serious denial right now that his policies are hurting the country.

petulant, defiant, still-wet-behind-the-ears prediction? interesting.
we will see how much of that ego from his halcyon '08 campaign is still there

I believe this guy has an out-of-control ego. In his mind, everything will be someone else's fault.
