Not a wire transfer like WU, but you go to a bank and transfer funds from one account to another (someone else's).

How do you do this? I take it that neither party is anonymous to the other.

Bring id...like a drivers license.

New rules force all banks to check atleast one id.....because you could be an Al-Queda operative wiring money to another sleeper cell.

knowing the Bank name and their ABA routing number will help you make it quicker

Internal xfers are normally free (BOA to BOA)

External require paperwork, acct # and routing.

External to another country require acct # and SWIFT code, plus paperwork.

If you're trying to be shady about it, forget it and WU the money.

when the money shows up in their account, it will show up as a transfer but won't say where its from. they will have to call the bank who will most likely tell them the bank name or the city and state it came from, but they might not tell them your name. I get wire transfers sometimes and have to figure out who owed me that amount.
there is a fee btw- check with your bank.

You will need a routing number too.
I fucked up a transfer at the end of last year. $4.5 million dollars. It never landed. I backtracked and found that the routing number had one too many zeros in it. i got it fixed.. thank god.
I have made trades with MF's without the money landing. If it wasn't in the account by the time it settled I would have had to have paid the load out of my own pocket... $87,000 or so.
