Bad weekend for TJ?

Just wondering peoples general opinions on how crowded this holiday weekend might be in TJ??? Might it be a great time to go, or one of the worst? OR kind of both, with more crowds but less "inspection" procedures?? Also, anyone know how long most of the graneros stay open until at night? Anyone with any specific info please pm/email me. peace

I wouldn't go to TJ....a lot of gear there is fake. They have guys comming accross all the time looking for shit. They'll sell you sugar pills in a heart beat. Go further south to Rosarita - not only will you avoid the trash, but the place is much nicer and you'll have a much better chance of geating real gear.

Only got time to hit TJ up, I also trust my favorite granero pretty well, not worried about that part. Anyone went "shopping" on a holiday weekend like this lately?? Lines??? More of a cakewalk than ever?? I guess Rosarito might be a possiblity, are the prices better too??

I have been countless times (holidays included) and can safely say that everytime I go down there I always hope it is for the last time. I hate TJ. It may be more crowded (I can't remember offhand), but it alwasy seems crowded to me anytime I go...

Its a trade-off.

There will be many many many more people. So, the chances of getting stopped are less just due to the sheer numbers of people crossing, they wil tend to inspect a lower percentage of people.

However, there will be long waits, LONG waits. For cars you can count on a good 2 hours easy, and when walking it can take an hour as well, no problem.

TJ on a holiday weekend? Pack a big lunch so you don't get hungry waiting in line trying to come back to the US. Expect to stand there for about 2-3 hours.

The Otay-Mesa Border Crossing has now been opened for 24-hour crossings. Use that border. If you take the Bus back to the Border, that is usually the one they will use these days. The SY/TJ Border Crossing is a mess on a slow day.

I agree with sofa george 100 percent. I have been to Tj 3 on different occasions. Nothing but a hassle and nothing but suspect gear and people working at the "pharmacias" are absolutely retarded to say the least. I know that's kind of mean, especially coming from an elementary education major; but go further into the country if you are going to gear only. That is my past experience and it's really junk in terms of border towns. Don't rely on them. Luckily, i don't have to, or from what i've read, i would've brought back some funk gear. Luckily i've made some good contacts over the last few years who have steered me better. Hope all who reads will understand where i'm coming from.

For you to say that the people working there "are retarded", I'd ask why?? Because they don't speaketh your englais? Do you speak Spanish?? What fuckin country do you think TJ is in, fucking America? What makes you smarter, and them so dumb? I can see why you are getting shit gear with your attitude towards them. I'd give you shit-gear too, then report you to Customs right after. Agreed. I have been dozens of times and have NEVER bought faker gear. Then again I ALWAYS knew exactly what I was looking for (via countless hours of research). Anybody who thinks there is only fake gear there has obviously never been (or simply never strayed from Revolucion Ave...)
