Bad day - sick dog, down $400...

That really sucks, I am sorry to hear that.

I hope your dog turns out ok.

Got any nude pics?

Aww...crap. =( I didn't know you were a dog owner. Should have guessed though since your uber cool. Any idea as to what the fella ate? Hope it all works out.

Well for $400 I would expect more info than that? did he tell you if Surgery would be needed? what the object was? the majority of problems in dogs is their owners like to feed them chicken bones these can easily get turned sideways and block the intestines making the dog sick and miserable.

my brother's crazy-ass dog ate a piece of steel wool that he used to clean his grill with a few years ago...and, it didn't come out the easy way...got lodged in the dog's intestines and had to be removed surgically...muy caro!!!! hope yours comes out easier!

chris is wishing he would have gone into Veterinary Medicine after reading this! $$$$$$$$$$

Can dogs get medicare/medicaid? Would vets accept it? lololo!

Well - he ate a condom once and passed that just fine? He likes to chew on blankets and corners of pillows and I pulled some thread type cloth piece from his teeth last night. I'm guess he's got a piece of a blanket or something in there - been looking at my stuff to figure it out.

They also did blood work. It's not obstructed yet but I have to watch him - but he's acting so sad and scare he wants nothing to do with me :(

no they didn't give him anything - I came home from lunch and I knew something was wrong. He didn't want to go for a walk, he was super lethargic and didn't want to be by me, and he didn't want to be picked up. My boss is going to be super pumped when I tell him I'm working from home tomorrow and my review is scheduled for tomorrow.

There's dog insurance, there is even one that covers up to $700 in rental property damage.

I will DEFINITELY get insurance for my great dane once he gets here because medication is exensive and it goes er weight most of the time therefore it will be shitloads of medication if he ever gets sick....

:( he won't move or walk or anything. I'm really worried. I don't think I've stopped crying in the last two hours :(

Don't cry :( have an *e-hug*...I am sure he will be ok or the vet wouldn't have let him go home with you. I realize that he probably doesn't feel the best right now but he will get through it. Keep your chin up :)

Update?
Have you tried feeding it some olive oil to get things moving? A tablespoon should do it for a dog that size.

WTF kind of vet is that she drains you and then says she doesnt know WTF to do? surgery, passing on it's own? WTF is going on?
