Damn been awhile since I've been here....new job is rough and I hate the day shift..oh well.
So I melted/broke some piston rings in my Talon AWD, going crazy with the boost will do that but it WAS an accident. So I have a new motor to put in it.....problem is its my ONLY car right now. For the first time in 15+ years I only have one car. I need to take it off the road for a month or so. So why not get a beater?? Hell no I wanna get a car I always wanted- an LT1 or LS1 Camaro. I can get a RWD car and not have to worry about bad weather since I have my AWD car as a backup. Now the problem, I had a bankruptcy about 4 years ago, so I'm a "credit risk" even though I've been in the same house for 7 years (only 23 years left on the mortgage!!) and make about 60k a year.Sure E-loan.com will help me out BUT I have to get a '97 or newer with less than 50k miles. So these knobs are FORCING me to get an expensive car-doesn't make sense. I'm shelving the LS1 idea for two reasons" Cost and motor reliability (the LS1's have ALOT of piston slap-no way am I financing THAT), so I'm looking for an older LT1. Well its impossible basically, no one wants to give me a loan for any car older than '97. If my credit was good I could go as far back as '94..but no dice. I singed up with a lawyer who claims he can restore my credit, I pay him monthly $50 but it just started. Freinds tell me it works but it doesn't help me NOW. Any suggestions?? I really can't wait 6-7 months here. There are alot of dealers who work with bad credit but you end up paying 3 or 4 thousand more for the car. Damn I know I'm venting here, but I'm at a loss as to what to do. Anyone know any places that can help me out??
