Tell us more about your trip!
Pamela, the hot springs are awesome
Well two friends of mine and I loaded up about 12:30pm Friday.. took a half day off at work. Had to pick up my board from the shop.. it was getting waxed. I just bought a new board this season.. i will post pics of it soon.
We hit the freeway at 1:45.. we got into Mammoth about 8:30 and checked into our hotel.. the MOtel 6. We went cheap since this was a quick trip. 40 bucks + tax for the night.. split three ways its pretty much nothing.
We eat at the Old Mammoth Bar and Grill.. nice dinner.. then we go shopping at Wave Rave.. one of the best snowboard shops there.
We get to bed about 11pm, but we get woken up a ton by people getting in at all hours of the night.
Up at 6am.. shower, strap our boots on, load up.. hit the lodge at 7:30.. wait in line for lift tickets.. get them.. get some breakfast.. then we're on the lifts by 8:30.
Did a warmup run first.. then went up the gondola to the first top and then up Face Lift.. hit some blue/blacks back down to the lodge. Then we take the gondola all the way to the top.. I take the cornice bowl and I fucking fall.. and I fall down the entire damn run.. it was so icy in the morning I couldn't get an edge.
So we head over to chair 12 and ride that 8 times.. doing all kinds of wide blue runs.. shooting off through the trees a little here and there..
Then we go to lunch.. meet up with some other friends that are there.. and we go do some of the main runs off of the face life.. stump alley express.. etc. its sunny.. I am wearing a t-shit.. the snow has softened up so its not nearly as icy.
We finish the day at the park.. i was beat so I didn't do much.. i am still learning how to land jumps.
We hit the road about 4pm and go home.. we stop for water.. gas.. food a couple of times.. but I was home by 11pm.
Good weekend... not too expensive.. 20 for lodging.. 48 for the lift ticket.. 50 for food.. 20 for gas... so undder $150 total.
