Actually, the videos are all on my coach's dvcam, I'll try to get them soon.
He also went to the 2005, 2006 arnold. They guy has video of MOST of the powerlifting, and also the Shankle/Klokov/Steitsiuk weightlifting!!
I also saw some of his videos of Chad Vaughn from 2005, a lot of never before seen training footage from Chinese, Syrian and World Champs training halls! Will try to get some of these!
Anyway, today was my first competition ever, and I was hoping to total 100/120. The snatch would have been a 5kg PR and the C&J would have been a 10kg PR.
My snatch technique as I noted in my journal was a bit off recently, but today it was pretty good! The key is to stay tight
Weigh in
I weighed in full of water THREE DAYS AGO at 81.6! Heaviest I've EVER been, so coach told me not to drop weight. So I didn't.
After breakfast, not taking a shit, and amoderately full of water today, I weighed in at 79.7kg!!. I'm going to be cleaning up the diet now, and cutting to 77 for comps.
Will probably end up being 85 at the end of the year though. 110/140 by then anyone?
Snatch
Attempt 1: 87kg - Miss
WHATT!? Pulled it very high, nerves just got to me I guess. This should have been in power snatch territory.
Attempt 2: 87kg - Pass
Easy.
Attempt 3: 92kg - Pass
Easy, should have moved up to 95kg, but did not want to risk only ending up with 87 in snatch.
Clean & Jerk
Attempt 1: 107kg - Pass
Coach started me super light here, I think he was worried that I was still a bit uneasy, but I was pissed from the snatch. Felt like I could have pulled a truck.
Attempt 2: 112 kg - Pass
I was a bit lazy on the pull and did not catch a bounce, but came out of the hole no problem. Light weight! 2kg PR
Attempt 3: 115kg - Pass
Caught bounce perfectly, but I bent my elbows a bit and wasn't very fast! Also, bar cut off blood flow for a while so I was a bit dizzy. Jerked it no problem! 5kg PR.
Overall, 5/6!
