Back and sides of my knee is killing me

Okay.....after a month or so of PT, ice, heat, deep heat ultrasounds and cortisone....I can almost function normally....ended up not tearing my quad tendon :xeye: but severly straining all the tendons and ligaments around my knee...mainly the MCL.....sooooooooooooooo by the end of summer I should be back to normal with leg training...

did they recommend an operation at any point?

No, surgery is only reserved for severe tears or other tendonous injuries that do not heal on their own or that severely limit function. Trust your orthopod. Most of them know their stuff!
 
I hope so.....I'm up tp 30 min of the elyptical with some strenghtening exercises for my leg sooooo.....getting there
 
Thanks.....only thing I am wondering about is I have rather large brusie that is in the back of my knee and down my calf? Any ideas as to why this would be here now and no I didn't hit it on anything....

Why is this...the top hurts sometimes but not like the rest....any ideas as to why and what I can do to help it out...The only thing I can think of is that when I was doing Lat pulldowns...there is a leg pad and I don't think I had my legs far enough under and my weight wa heavy (115) so I was putting pressure on the tops of my knee caps. But as soon as I do any treadmill the back of knee tightens....help :qt:
perhaps it is tendonitis
