Back acne, gotta get rid of this shit.

I gotta get rid of this shit. I always get it even when off it seems. I plan on going to a party down the shore at the end of the summer and would like to not have anything that would disgust ppl on my back. Any suggestions?

hey bro, i used to get it quite a bit, i used some shit now called Phisoderm and i use this thingy i bought that has the texture a little softer than a brillow pad with handles on each end and is about three feet long, i can then literally "scrub" my back surface and my acne has been non existant, the problem usualy is you can't reach and srub the places completely enough, and this thingy allows you to do so, i think i got it at walgreens

I talked to a dermatologist about this almost 20 years ago. He said that 99.9% of the time when he got a young guy in complaining of back acne almost exclusively the kid wasn't scrubbing the dead skin cells off his back. He would tell the kid to scrub with a washcloth or a luffa every day... and almost every time it would clear up right away.

Hey bro luffa every day, get some 2%-4% Salicylin Acid or (Extra strength Oxy pads) and take cold showers through out the day with a warm shower in the evening leaving your shirt off so you can stay cool and rub the pads on your shoulders and back twice before going to bed + through-out the day. And make sure your not to hot or covered up too much while you sleep to keep from sweating. This worked great for me and was recommended by a Mod here and it took aprox. 7 days for it to start to go away. (You will see it dry up quick).

Take care,

P.S. Try to rinse off with cold water at the gym soon after workout.
:)

hmm, yeah I figured it could just be because I couldn't reach my back to clean it. Thanks for all those responded

I learned about vitamin b-5 for acne on this board

now Im on the preaching circuit.

Vitamin b-5 bro!

You'll see a difernce in 3-4 days, but keep taking it.

Ahhh someone else in the same boat as me!

here is what works for me.

take 2 showers a day, scrubbing ur back with an anti acne wash that has the little sand grit things in it- I use one by neutrigina(sp?)that works ok

Go to a deratologist and he can write you a script for BA 10%, i think it stands for Bacillic Acid- get someone to put it all over ur back (this is where a steady GF comes in handy:D) and let it dry for about 10 min before you go to sleep

Start going tanning, but DONT put any of the lotion on your back, just let it get a lil burnt, it dries up the oil in the skin.

in about 2 weeks it should almost be gone.

That being said, I'm a lazy shit, and dont follow all of the above often, so you could play connect the dots on my back. But when I got someplace to be, if I follow all of the above I'm all set in a few weeks.

Just make sure you get the real powerful shit from the doc, anything that you can get over the counter just aint powerful for your back- its mostly made to be used on ppls faces, so they dont want to irritate the users face...

I got the same prob bro.
I just finished a test cycle and my lower back is full.
I just started taking some B-5.
I'll let you know if it helps.

try to use some tersaseptic soap, it usually helps for me. If
this doesn't work, try some Desquam-X. This will burn the
fuck out of anything. Tanning will also dry them out and help
to cover them.

Regards

I'm taking 80mg's ED of roche Accutane.

Its working to say the least. Kepp in mind as most have pointed out that acne on the back is the hardest to get rid of. It is usually hormonal variances that cause it.

Go see a dermotologist. They'll help.

None of that other stuff mentioned above did a whole lot. it helped some but not antwhere near enough, and I did it all.

jesus christ

every day there is new acne posts, are you guys reading through the archives. Everyone has these complicated rountines of scrubbing and buying perscription crap. I have been saying that ALA can get rid of acne and prevent. Why is no one listening? I don't feel sorry for any of you. Unless you tried it if so let me know that it did not work and I will know I am a freak. Use about 1000-1200 mgs a day and I bet it will be gone in two weeks max. YOu have to use it in your cycles anyway.

Used ALA and it didn't work for me. Tried B5 at 10-15 grams daily and it seams to helps. Am using retin-A, orthomycin and another cream and it helps. But i still allways have one or two bumps that prevent me from wearing a tank top. And always have small blackheads on my nose and cheeks.

I so f*ck it. I've tried everything. So this winter its time for accutane.

ALA did shit for my complexion.

finally

hey finally some responses. Well I guess it is just me. I guess everyone can ignore my suggestion of ALA. I will just count my blessings that I never have to worry about acne. oh well

I'd say all that OTC acne med is shit. It just dries out the skin and makes it more irritated. If a lufa scrub doesn't work then tanning always seemed to work the best for me. I think the UV radiation kills a lot of the shit that causes it. If that doesn't work then you know it's hormonal and you should see a dermatologist or try that accutane stuff.
And try not to get it on the mirror when you pop it!

I have really bad acne on my jaw lines which sucks. Would trade that for the back anyday. At least you guys can cover it, while i can't since its on my face!!

Last week my dermatologist gave me 90 day supply of:
Doxycyline 100mg, Cleocin T Gel , Differn Gel, and Brenoxyl to wash my face with. Hopefully when i get it , it will make all of my acne disappear.

In the meantime, i 've been taking 5 gms of B5 for 3 weeks and its dried my face out. No more oily skin during the day, or in the morning from sleeping. Also using Dial Antibact soap with Hydrating vitamins. Sure can feel the tightness of the skin after washing my face with it during the day.

Its been 2 1/2 months since i got off of sus and not sure if this is the results still from it, Or the fact that i'm turning 30 and my hormone production is slowing down??????????

I agree. Cleocin-T is a topical antibiotic used for mild-severe acne cases. No side effects. I have used it and it works.

Lifestyle....

Some ideas from what I've seen other guys go through....

1. Check your diet for acne-inducing foods (tend to be specific to some people).

2. Get a back brush or scrubber. Exfoliating your back when you shower will help drain current acne and help prevent clogged pores.

3. WASH YOUR BED LINEN REGULARLY, esp. if you sweat a lot when you sleep. It traps dirt and body oil which only rubs into the skin as you sleep.

4. Try showering before bed. A clean body has less junk to trap in the skin while sleeping.

5. Hit a tanning bed. A lot of my body acne went away with just once a week sessons. The UV kills the acne bacteria very well.

what dosage does every1 use of B-5, i got Twinlab B-5 from GNC and its 500mg per capsule im pretty sure....and ive been taking 2 caps 3 times daily....is that too much? I havent really noticed a difference, but i think its preventing them more, i havent gotten any new ones, im just trying to get rid of all the acne on my shoulders???

What has everyone used for shoulder acne?

i used cleocin t, retin a and an oral antibiotic called minocin or something like that and it didnt do a whole lot. tanning helps me more. i plan on getting a script for accutane.

the only thing thats really going to clear acne up is accutane.

at least if you dont want to keep on your acne regimen for the next 20 years.. i know i sure as hell dont.

some people have recurrances with accutane but even then its way milder than previously.

i have a buddy that has a pretty good connection for accutane since i have no insurance to cover it. if anyones interested, pm/email me.
