B-bye Bridge And Tunnel Folks

This is my first weekend back in the city after a few confused years of trying to become a righteous and upstanding suburban citizen.

Fuck I’m happy to be back.

Hello toothless hooker, I've missed ya.

Good to see you again Mr homeless person, sure I can spare some change.

Deli Lady, you can call me honey anytime you want, see you again tomorrow.

Hey nasty cab driver, don't even think about taking me for a ride. Do I look suburban to you?

FUCK I’M HAPPY TO BE BACK AMONG REAL PEOPLE.

Bridge and tunnel people, please don't park your minivan on my street. Thank you.

that's not nice. Can I head in during the day at least? Sundays?

OK, how about this:

1) You may park your minivan on my street between 9 and 6 pm on weekdays when I'm not around to see the "my child was the student of the month" sticker.

2) You may park on my street on Saturdays, Sundays and weeknights IN CASE OF EMERGENCY ONLY (the cool brunch place next door does not count as an emergency) but NOT on MY SIDE of the street.

Deal?

*sigh* ok. My kids are delinquents anyway.

good luck/congrats on the move. Hope to do it one day.

Glad to hear that you came to your senses. And sorry about your offspring. Any way you can deny that they're yours?

ps... jnyce7, you can come hang out with me anytime you want and feel ALIVE and FREE (I know you need it, I've seen the look on you suburban people's faces). Tell your wife it's a work thing. Just don't take the minivan and please don't wear anything Ralph Lauren or t-shirts with Mickey Mouse on it. This is not Florida.

Welcome back to the cement jungle.

I went straight from blading the granite city to cruisin' the rural country bumpkin.

Hey that's one bright spot. You wouldnt have to worry about any teeth scraping and it couldnt cost more than $10 max, right?

Whattayamean that's ONE bright spot? They're ALL bright spots. But you do have a point there... I've always preferred teeth looks-wise (that’s just me) but toothlessness should have its advantages otherwise... Hmmm… I might have to give that a shot. And trust me, $10 will get you a long way with these ladies (and I say that in the most loving way possible).

The granite city? Maybe I'm a complete loosah (if so, just don't tell me, I hurt easily) but isn't that back in the old country? I always thought you were in the US of A?

Darlin - NYC is on a slab on granite.
That's why all the old old building built heavily with granite - because it was so readily available.

:alien:

It's ok though.
I'm surrounded by corn fields, potato farms, bonacers and rye grass....

...and it's it's killing me

OK, this is going to crack you up... I did not know that about NYC but I did know that Aberdeen, Scotland is known as the "Granite City". Their web site is even called www.granite-city.com. How funny is that?! (well, I was born, raised and educated in Europe so maybe it's not that weird)

So here I am thinking... velvett is Scottish? Huh? I was pretty sure that you were in the Northeast (just a feeling I got). My gut about people is usually pretty good and then you tell me something that leads me to believe you're Scottish. What, what, what? My entire world just turned upside down there for a second! I really thought I had lost my instincts...

Phew!

Now, more importantly, what the heck are you doing out there in the corn fields? Can you really take the city of of the girl?

I didn't know about Aberdeen - pretty interesting if i don't say so myself. Darn funny sparky!

Corn fields - I dunno.
I kept moving east and this is where I found myself.

Not likely but I do love a pretty country side.

I think so. Near the Flatiron Building. Favorite hangout?

I lived two blocks away at the Stanford for many years - so it was a place to start and and the evening.

And here I was thinking that you use to hang out at this little place that sold live bait in NYC. :D :o

I always wondered if "live bait" referred to the wait staff or the sea food... Hmmm...
