awful form lol

theres nothing wrong with that. it is helpful to do once in a while.

It's fine - they are cheat curls; I second JOE D.

He's handling weights that are probably 20% above his 5RM max and using leverage and swinging to get the weights up. It's like push press for shoulders and tris, or doing power cleans instead of upright rows, or cheating on cinups by kipping because you're too heavy to do it slowly - it all helps.

If you are curling the 90's then that's fine. Please don't curl the 40's like that lol. A little cheating is good sometimes.

his form problems are in the eccentric, loses contraction about half way down. He'd be better off resisting the weight, instead of letting it drop.

Who video tapes themselves curling anyways? RRAWWRRRR!!!!! they were getting pretty pumped up for curls too.

Big guy with good development, let them have their fun.

they're called cheat curls...form in not that important ...you go very heavy doing cheat curls to make sure you put the max stree on the biceps and forearms and recruit new muscle fibers...thats the concept behind it

nahh if you watch he still has a hard time completing the rep after he has done swinging so he is still doing the work and not to mension forearms will be worked heavily too.

Form does not matter for curls. In fact, the only lift where I have found form to be important is the snatch (the clean to a much lesser extent) as you will not stick a lift with bad form. Even with the snatch there is still wide room for error. Further, if form was so important machines that regulate movement would be superior to free weights.

the reason free weights are superior to machines has nothing to do with form.

This is getting ridiculous.

Form on cheat curls is important.

With 90lbs in each hand you can lean back unevenly and hurt your spine.
Swing the weights up so balistically you don't stress the bicep enough.
Miss the eccentric component completely (as this guy is starting to do).
Look like a prick flailing around in the corner, trying to impress people using too much weight.

Therefore on cheating movements, form is just as important, just DIFFERENT.
