Avi/mpeg splitter that actually works?

Need to split some movies so they fit on cd’s….I’ve tried tons of programs and they always throw the sound like 3 seconds behind the video when it splits the movie…is there any program that actually works?

I've come across the same problem.

I've got a fast top of the line computer so I know it's not a power thing.

I use Virtualdub or Nandub.
Could be missing key frames or you have to rencode the audio index.
