Augusta

LOL @ the notion that you have be a multiple major winner or you're a nobody.

All those guys have wins, not all in majors. Ogilvy has won the US Open, Donald is ranked 3rd in the entire world, Scott has 7 PGA wins and 7 European Tour wins, Choi has 7 PGA wins and is famous for going toe to toe with Tiger.. these aren't randoms. They are all great golfers.

Sorry, time will tell if you are right. Bunch of randoms on the tour. One guy will next the next major, then another one after, etc..

Somebody else may win it but for the most part the guys that were around and finished strong are not no names IF you follow golf. Even loosely. They are not household names like Palmer, Woods, Nicklaus, Couples but they are the tours top golfers and are always in the money and have multiple top 10-20 finishes routinely.

Seems this generation lacks the names of the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's

well mcilroy is a young up and comer and just about everyone who even remotely follows golf knew who he was before the masters. people might not have known jason day or charl schwartzel, but adam scott, luke donald, jeff ogilvy, tiger, angel cabrera, kj choi.. all great golfers and hardly "randoms."

I was rooting for him like mad. Poor poor guy. That was a crash and burn of truly epic proportions.

Father's a member of the oldest golf club in Georgia and it has a lot of close ties to the Augusta National Golf Club, so we can guest anytime we're willing to make the drive. Absolutely stunning course. Some of those holes are insanely difficult though. How anyone even gets par on any of those holes is inconceivable to me.

Augusta is one of the most exclusive clubs in America. If he could guest anytime that would be so badass. Has he played the course since he has this at his disposal?

Names??

Golf now is more competitive then its ever been. The international talent of Professional Golfers is unreal thanks to the household names you were probably used to growing up. Mickelson, Els, Woods, Couples, Nicholaus, Palmer, etc etc. Your saying random golfers larts but your not giving credit where credit is due.

Last time I checked the leaderboard I didn't really recognize many players names.
Seems like just a bunch of random people who play this sport and no one dominates now that Tiger fell off.

yea it would def seem like that to someone who doesn't know anything about golf

Yes he's played there a few times. Father's a member of a place called The Piedmont Driving Club in Atlanta, which is also uber exclusive. A lot of the members of those two clubs seem to be acquainted with each other, so there's a lot of mutual guesting.
