and on top of that you have to pay 15% sales tax too!

example:

2006 corvette coupe in u.s - $46000 u.s dollars
same car in canada starting at $ 68000 canadian dollars which is about $55000 u.s dollars...

or do i have this thing all wrong???

i dont think it works that way..
to get canadian plates, youll probably have to pay taxes anyhow..
unless of course you keep u.s plates on the car in which case your insurance may be problematic... and i believe theres a law that you can only have it in the country for up to 6 months.

It's not that easy. You will still have to pay (Canadian) taxes on the car and go through a pretty time consuming process of certification. Not worth it in the slightest, especially when you factor in the time spent. I did this before with two cars, so unless you can find yourself a steal then don't bother.

They are more expensive satch, couldn't tell you why for sure. We pay a lot of taxes on them but most of them that I'm aware of are over and above the sticker price. It's especially ridiculous when you consider that many of them are made here.

Anytime I am on vacation in the US I always hear the exact opposite? Have always been thanked and told that we tip waaaay better then Americans.

We tip (for good service anyway) 15% here because that's what the taxes come to. So pretty much guaranteed on average that Canadians give more
