has anyone here every made these? i think i am gonna make some this weekend using these directions http://www.tc.umn.edu/~keen0018/makeastone.htm
if you ahve made them is there anything i should know so i dont mess up and waste money. and also what do i use to set them on when i am practicing the event.

KingC was gonna make some last night I think? But I guess they take several days to set. Check out BFold's "Another Fun Sunday" posts for pics - he uses barrels with old tires on them for loading.

i'm using the rented molds to make mine and actually i will be starting them within minutes(someone came up last night) just seems easier this way than the plaster method. hopefully i will have 3-4sets left to sell.

well got the molds and i already greased them down and am now bolting all of them together. if you ever do this. get someone to help you. this is gonna take all freakin day. theres a miliion bolts holdin ea one of these together and i still havent started to mix concrete. well, had take a break to vent.

well i jsut got my ball up to 54 inches like i wanted i am gonna try this plaster thing tonight or tomorrow. king79 why did u not use a drill with a nut driver bit . i woulda done mine at work with air ratchets lol. anyhow let me know how it goes i am looking forward to your outcome.

1/2 diesel fuel & 1/2 motor oil, smear it on, let set 15 min and come back and get any puddles it may have left

o, yea, just got done pouring and vibrating my first set,(man this is more work than i thought) let ya know how they look sun night after training when i check them. i have a feeling they will be heavier than illustrated on them which is what i was hoping for bc when i ordered them i didnt think i could even lift a 230stone and i can get a 265 so i hope they end up heavy. my last one is suppose to be 250ithink.

make sure you use a vibrator if you have access to one.helps alot
