ATF squats 3x a week killing my knee

All, I have a problem. I've been doing the 5x5 workout for now 4 weeks. My left knee is killing me. I go all the way down with squats and can't take it anymore. I never had this problem squatting only 1-2 times a week. But the three times a week is not good. What should I do? I thought the program requires squatting 3x a week as a must, but I can't go up stairs without it hurting today.
 
From everything I've seen I don't think it's a form issue. I never had the problem until I started doing them 3x a week.

Can I replace this somehow like once a week for the 5x5?
 
stretch your hip flexors, quads and external hip rotors

that should help, apart from the fact you might have tendonitus from overuse.
 
i dealt with the same thing, it was a pain in the ass and i could barely make it up stairs. it got to the point where i was using the elevator at work to go up one floor. I just dealt with it though, and it went away after i finished deloading.

try some ben-gay to keep them nice and warm and get blood in there when you squat. that helped me a little.
 
another thing i forgot to mention - make sure your well warmed up before you squat... i've never had knee issues even with some brutal workouts - i ensure i'm warmed up before. maybe you could post a vid of your squat... it may be worthwhile.
 
I try the ben gay thing and maybe warm up a little more. I think though for the next week or two I'll cut out the light squat sets to give my knee some rest.

Is there such a thing as going to low? I have noticed that I go a lot further some people doing ATF squats. I'm into martial arts so I'm really flexible.
