At what age did you first move out and why?

Well I am 19 and still live at home, although, I am thinking about getting my own place with a friend pretty soon.

Since I live in socal, its going cost me about 600$ a month to share a 1 bedroom apartment with a friend(The 600$ is my half). Not sure if its worth it though, but we will see.

I left home to go to college at 18 as well.........but I have to admit my parents are somewhat supporting me financially (which I appreciate)


my rent here is 200 dolla a month with 2 other roommates.....and this is the cheapest place we could find.........i'm talkin brown shag carpet, hasen't been remodeled since the 70's........i think my parents like the fact that Im willing to live here (those snobs) lol

I'm sorry for the confusion. I am not some prodigy who is years ahead in the study process. This is how it works in Holland, the top 10% of HS students gets into a program called VWO, or atheneum, or Gymnasium, its all the same shit, it takes 6 years and when you complete it you get access to the Universities. Medical school has specific demands, but I'll be fine, although its not 100% sure yet. If I dont make it ill study physics in uni.

At 21, I got in a big fight with my pops, so I moved out. I went back for a few months about a year later and hated it. I moved out again, and here I am. Next step is to move out by myself (no roomate).

During college I was only home during the summer. I never moved back in after college though... got my own apartment right away. I'm very independent and I didn't want to live at home after school. I wanted my own place, with my own rules.

16 was made an emancipated Minor by my father, went into military, LOOOONNG time ago. Just the fact they let you do that back then shows my age.

I moved out at 19 with a buddy of mine. Why? Well mainly because I was emotionally killing my mom. She found my weed stash like 6 different times & was going crazy. We're talking the 70's era now. She'd be crying, saying that she & my dad hadn't raised me that way & couldn't understand for the life of her why I was doing it. It was killing her inside & even though I felt bad about doing that to her, I wasn't ready to stop just yet. So to keep peace within the family & to help her to maintain a little sanity, I left. It was probably one of the best thing's that I've ever done. Taught me to grow up a little & to take some responsibility for my actions & also how to take care of myself without having to rely on my parents for everything.
