Aspirating blood - opinion

When aspirating and you happen to see some blood, do you pull the needle out a little and aspirate again or pull the pin completely out, change the needle and pin again in another area?

I was having this debate with a friend of mine and wanted to see what others thought. When I happen to draw blood during aspiration I just pull the needle back a little (maybe 1/4"), aspirate again to make sure there's no blood and crank.

Most will change it and re-stick don't know why ,its your blood its not gonna hurt you,I never aspirate not saying you shouldn't it's just after 30 yrs i know what i'm doing.

i pull out, use new pin but keep barrel and use everything as well. of course, i've only drawn blood in once

Im gonna stick with radar on this one...Most people come up with the theory that if you aspirate and see blood, youve hit a vein and youre going to kill yourself if you shoot up...The reality is, it is nearly impossible to hit a vein remotely big enough to hurt you when your giving yourself an intramuscular injection. What im saying is, if youre worried youre going to shoot up and have a bunch of gear reach your heart via your blood, dont be. Unless your shooting into your forearms directly into a vein, it aint gonna happen..I dont aspirate but i have before and seen blood, shot up and been perfectly fine...blood in the syringe and all.... hope this helps...

If i get blood, i pull the needle out, press the plunger to get the blood out of syringe (so that i can see if new blood comes in on my next poke) and stick my self again with the same needle.

Shoot in the glutes properly and you never have to aspirate. No one ever died from not aspirating.

the only benefit i think you would get out of changing the pin is keeping it sharp.

as usual nelson is right on the mark. been juicing for years, never aspirated once. . i shoot primarily and glutes, and sometimes shoulders. i kinda steer away from shoulders because after injection pain is more likely.

Aspirate with delts. Not everyone is the same. I have aspirated blood twice in my delt. The first time I simply pushed a little farther and injected, big mistake. I had a gusher, and I started hacking and felt so freaking lightheaded it was pathetic and I was freaking sore for a week! The second time I pulled out, replaced, chose slightly different spot, no problem. One thing is I always nick a vein in my delts so I must have alot of blood vessles in there. So yes, I'd aspirate in delts. You won't die if you don't but I don't ever want to experience the above again - it made me almost want to stop the cycle.

d_rson. if you find your acromian process (the nub of pone at the top of your deltoid cap), go about 2 finger widths below there, make a V with your index and middle finger and shoot into the meatiest part between the "V" you should have no problems
