Out of the 600cc class of sportbikes, what are your opinions on the big dogs (CBR, GSXer, ZX-6R, R6)?

Thanks. I'm most likely looking at a used, slightly older model (01-04 TBD on cost)

Met some dude who works at a huge local bike store. Dude was mad cool, told me he organizes local rides, etc.

if you def in the market for a 600 id stick with either an R6 or cbr...i like them both and have owned both so cant realy sway one way or the other...ive owned a zx6 aswell and would not reccommend it...plenty of friends have gone with gsxr 600's and they are fairly comfortable...but honestly for the right deal id buy any one of them....look around if you need some help hit me up and let me know your budget..

KB, you riding a bike in SD now?

I've had one since February. But not right now, waiting for mine to get delivered to me. But I need to upgrade anyway. Give it another week or two and I will be. :)

I can't even imagine how many beautiful places there are up and down this coast to ride. And being able to ride 365 is amazing. I need to take the test here to get my permit.

yeah, both my parents ride and love riding just for the hell of it up and down cali

That's awesome. My parents would cry nightly if they knew I ride
yeah, for as messed up as my parents are in some way (religious ways) they can be very cool otherwise.

KB-

There's a slight chance I might be coming to SD next week. If I get home this weekend I'm going to road trip out with my buddy who's moving there. Again a big if but if I do make it and can figure out where we can stash it I'll bring the Harley out.

Cheers,
Scotsman

The 01-04 CBR's are no good. Heavy and underperforming even for a 600. Plus if I remember correctly they don't have the cool new honda unilink or whatever it's called, suspension.

The R6 is a great bike no matter what year. BUT if I were you I would go for the 04. It's a solid model year with Fuel Ignition and it's pretty much the best all around bike for the price.

GSXR is always good. On par with performance of the R6 but the 01-04 model years are ugly IMO.

Hands down the R6. Looks great, performs great and it's resale is phenomenal.

Thanks dude, appreciate it.

And I actually dig the GSX look of 01-04. I'm weird like that.

I think the R6 is a beautiful bike..I have always owned suzukis though and I know performance wise the Gixxer 600 is about as badass as it gets

I like the GSXR's. Plus, their seats are soooooo comfortable, the seats on Yamis are not made for butt support :)

But, anyways.....when I was looking at bikes, I was about to get a F4, heard there were good. Maybe some of the guys can help giving a review of this bike

If your ass is on the seat long enough while riding, you ain't riding right.

But is it easier to transfer from a 250 to a 600 with that one or with the GSXR or R6?

It's obviously easier to transfer to the F4 - it's a pussybike. Besides, how many bikes will KB want to own/go through before he gets to a real one?

KB - Get a Gixxer or an R6. You'll be fine.

wtf.

Bro, I told you not to even get that 500.

However, if you got a chance to learn how to ride. Don't be afraid to jump to a 750.

But, a good looking 600 will get just ass much tail as a 750.

Who said I wasn't happy about my 500 purchase? It was the best move at the time.

Now it's time for a 600, just like the plan was.

LOL. Sorry bro, didn't mean it like that. I meant the F4 would be a needless step, just go to a 600.

lol, considering I started with the Ninja 500.....yeah, never intended to go anywhere but 600 or up. 600 will suffice for now,, especially cause I'm still very much a noob.

The 05 - 07 CBR RR is a sweet bike. The 600 is nice but the Honda Literbike is still behind the Yamaha, Zuks and even the ZX-10.
