AS limits natural growth potential?

Suppose someone uses AS before their body has reached its natural potential for growth. After your cycle, will your ability to gain muscle naturally be somehow limited genetically or will you be able to gain and sustain muscle mass at the same rate as before?

From what Ive learned, AS can limit height by causing premature capping of the bones, but I seriously doubt that it will limit muscle growth if done properly. For this to happen, wither downregulation of the AR would need to occur, transcription would need to be comprimized or protein synthesis would need to be comprimized. I think everybody on the boards would say that none of this happens ( if it did then AS would gradually lose effectiveness and you would end up smaller than you started). Now if you continuously used them in supraphysiologic levels for and exteneded period (say a few years) and then stopped you might burn out your testes and limit testosterone production.
