army basic is a cake walk...its all male at benning and sill....all the other places are coed...ait is coed...but you wont be going to ait....ocs is a different story...it is a lot tougher physically and mentally...you run about 15 miles per day...that's what i'm told from the ocs grads that go thru where i work....but the pay difference is huge compared to being enlisted...
You are going to have to do some research because you'll get a lot of false info here. Don't take my word for it, but I've been to both.
-Basic is NOT coed in the Army (all male or all female platoons)
-AIT is coed in certain MOS's. You won't go though
-OCS is coed
-You will NOT run 15 miles a day (we did one 10 miler, most of the time 3-6 miles)
-You get paid E-5 pay while in OCS (unless you were an E6 or higher when you arrived)
It depends on where you go to basic whether or not it is coed. I went to Ft. Sill in OK, and it was not coed, but had some buddies go to Ft Leonardwood in MO, and it was coed. Luckily, my AIT was in Leonardwood, so that was coed.
Thanks for all the info guys. I kind of abandoned this thread after starting it but I had good reason. I've spent the past 2 days prepping my Army OCS package. Fuck the Air Force. I burned that bridge and am going full on Army.
Yes, I was enlisted Air Force for 4 years. But I wasn't happy with the life. I think I'll be a better fit in the Army.
